Georgina Rodríguez Hernández (born 27 January 1994) is an Argentine and Spanish social media personality and model.

Rodríguez initially attracted attention in 2017 for her publicised relationship with world renowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. In the years since, she has established a large social media following and achieved success with modelling. She was the subject of an eponymous 2022 Netflix documentary, I Am Georgina, in which she was credited as the producer.

Early life

[edit]

Rodríguez was born in Buenos Aires.[1] Her family, including an older sister, lived with her paternal relatives. When Rodríguez was one year old, her mother decided she wanted to return to Spain, and the family moved to the Northern Spanish City of Jaca in the Province of Huesca.[2][3] Rodríguez began her career as a dancer, studying classical ballet from the age of four. When she turned 18 years old, she moved to the capital Madrid, where she worked retail during the day and at a bar on weekends.[4] She eventually secured a job in a Gucci store.[4]

Career

[edit]

Since achieving fame, Rodríguez built a career as a model and influencer, appearing in campaigns for Gucci, Prada, and Chanel.[5][6][7][8][9] In March 2024, Rodríguez walked on the runway at the Vetements Womenswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show at Paris Fashion Week, wearing a red dress with the number seven that resembled Ronaldo's jerseys during his time at Manchester United.[10]

Personal life

[edit]

Rodríguez has been in a relationship with Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo since 2016, after meeting him at a Gucci retail store in Madrid, where she was working as a sales assistant.[11][12]

From her relationship with Ronaldo, Rodríguez became a stepmother to Ronaldo's son from a previous surrogate. In 2016, Rodriguez and Ronaldo decided to have twins through the surrogate method, and the twins were born in June 2017. In February 2017 Georgina was declared pregnant and gave birth to her first child without a surrogate mother in November 2017. In April 2022, Rodríguez gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, but the baby boy died shortly after birth.[13] In an Instagram post, Ronaldo and Rodríguez wrote "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel".[14]
