Summary

Description
English: Desk James Buchanan used while president in the White House. Made in India out of teak, it was sent to America as an inauguration present for Buchanan by some friends. It is intricately carved and is designed like a partners desk but is too small to be used that way. The drawers on the front are false. Buchanan used the desk throughout his time in the White House bringing it to Wheatland after his presidency ended.
