Back in the ring

[edit]

@RJDiogenes I think I've brought the career section of this article up to scratch - with some good news articles as sources. Why don't you try working on citations for the remaining sections, then we can see if @SafariScribe thinks it's ready. What say you?

I really appreciate all the effort you've put into this article, so thank you again. I assume it's the "Extended Mihmiverse" section that requires further citations-- is Goodreads not a good source? And I assume at this point that citing Atomic Tales and the text adventure cannot be cited using the pages where they live? RJDiogenes (talk) 20:17, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, to build out that 'Extended Mihmiverse' section reliable sources are needed. There are plenty on hand, you just need to avoid Good Reads and, for the time being, IMDB (because the IMDB listings on Mihm haven't been supplied by the Writers Guild of America, an issue discussed here). However! You can use:
Would really like to see you finish this piece! MatthewDalhousie (talk) 23:35, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, great, I'm on it. Hopefully I can get this straightened away by the weekend. Once again, thank you for your invaluable assistance! RJDiogenes (talk) 18:57, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, none of those sources had any references to the books or podcast or game. I think I found good citations for the books using the Speculative Fiction Database and Google Books, but I found nothing for the podcast or the game except their own links. I'm not sure whether to just delete the references altogether or leave them as is to see what @SafariScribe thinks about them. RJDiogenes (talk) 14:51, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RJDiogenes I think you've got it. Only include content for which you've got a source. So, write about the books, leave out the podcast and the game.
One of the articles (I think) mentioned a food product spin off? That has a news source, so that can be included too. MatthewDalhousie (talk) 00:45, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The food product must have been mentioned in the link I can't access, but I'm pretty positive it must have been for Uncle John's Burger Dogs, which are no longer available. Too bad, because I had some and they were pretty good. Anyway, I have deleted the podcast and the game, so I throw myself on the mercy of @SafariScribe. Thank you again for your generous help. I will check this out later. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 19:56, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! RJDiogenes (talk) 22:34, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RJDiogenes nice work. Substantial source work. Well done. MatthewDalhousie (talk) 00:11, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much, and thanks again for your guidance. I obviously had no idea what I was doing when I decided to mount this project. RJDiogenes (talk) 16:57, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is a principle around here, known simply as WP:ENCOURAGE which I could be better at following. No one gets it right for the first couple of thousand edits. I hope you feel encouraged to keep contributing. MatthewDalhousie (talk) 00:57, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I certainly do appreciate that encouragement. I would definitely like to keep contributing. It's something that I had thought about for a long time, and now that I'm retired I figured I'd go for it. RJDiogenes (talk) 21:06, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
