Wild Idol is a 2021 boy group survival reality show on MBC from September 17 to December 21, 2021. In the episode finale on December 16, 2021 which was broadcast live, the show announced the final 7 members who would debut as TAN.
Background and concept
[edit]On August 9, 2021, MBC started to release the official profile information, photos, PR videos and performance videos of each 45 contestants who assigned to a unique number to identifies them one by one.
On September 11, 2021, the signature song titled "Born to be Wild" was released digitally on the South Korean streaming platform. On October 21, second digital single titled "Diving to the Top was released.
The contestants of the show will be evaluated based on physical stamina, skill level, and hidden potential through outdoor battles. In the very first episode, the viewers only know to identify the contestants by their unique number and their face, but not their names.

Aftermath
[edit]The final group TAN officially debuted on March 10, 2022 with the EP 1TAN.[1]
