Dr. Vijay H. Masand is a full-time professor of Chemistry at Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati (India). Born in a lower middle class family, he revealed great interest in science, especially natural sciences.
His passion for natural sciences paved the way for his graduation in three subjects viz. Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati. After his post-graduation with specialization in 'Organic Chemistry', he joined Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati in 2005 to teach UG and PG in Chemistry. Currently, he is a full professor of Chemistry and actively engaged in the field of QSAR, drug designing, cheminformatics and medicinal chemistry.
He has published over 147 research papers in high impact journals published by ACS, Elsevier, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, MDPI, among others. He has delivered numerous popular lectures on QSAR, drug designing, cheminformatics and medicinal chemistry in India and other countries. His collaborators are from the USA, Italy, Croatia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, just a few to mention.
He has served as a member of Board of Studies in Chemistry at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati from 2017 to 2022. His second tenure as a member of Board of Studies in Chemistry at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati is from 2022 to 2027.
With a teaching experience of more than 21 years, he is immensely popular among students.
