Truro Boscawen & Redannick (Cornish: Truru Bosskawen & Redenek) is an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom which returns one member to sit on Cornwall Council. It was created by the 2019 boundary review for the 2021 local elections, being preceded by Truro Boscawen and Truro Moresk and Trehaverne.[1]

Background

[edit]

Truro Redannick & Redannick covers the South and South west of the city of Truro, including the suburbs of Newham, parts of Highertown, and the railway station. The division covers 301 hectares in total.[2][3] 6,320 people live in the ward, with an estimated Population Density of 1,885.4 (people/km2).[4]

Within the ward, 764 people (12.1% of the residents) specified a Cornish only identity and 109 (1.7%) Cornish in combination with British - this is slightly lower than the average within the rest of Cornwall (14% and 1.6% respectively).[5]
