TideWise is a Brazilian company that specializes in the development, construction, and operation of unmanned robotic systems for maritime applications. Founded in Rio de Janeiro in 2019, the company has been involved in several significant projects in the field of robotic technology.
Notable projects developed by TideWise include:
- USV Tupan: The first unmanned vessel in Brazil, registered with the Brazilian Navy through the Capitania dos Portos do Rio de Janeiro in 2020.
- ARIEL (Autonomous Robot for Identification of Emulsified Liquids): A project developed in collaboration with Repsol Sinopec Brasil and COPPE/UFRJ. This initiative led to the first integration of an autonomous vessel and a drone in the southern hemisphere in 2020. The ARIEL project won the ANP Technological Innovation Award[1][2] and received extensive media coverage.
- Offshore Wind Farm Inspection (USV + UAV Integration): In 2022, TideWise conducted an innovative offshore wind farm inspection using the integrated USV and UAV system in Belgium[3]. The operation, contracted by Elia System Operator, was the first of its kind worldwide and was featured in specialized publications such as Uncrewed Systems Technology[4], German Wind Power Magazine[5] and Offshore Engineer[6].
- MINEX 2023: TideWise participated in the first exercise in Brazilian history involving unmanned vessels, conducted by the Brazilian Navy. The company demonstrated autonomous capabilities through the USV Suppressor X, which was used in maritime mine sweeping, identification, and classification operations.
- USV Suppressor: In partnership with EMGEPRON, TideWise is developing the USV Suppressor, the first unmanned defense vessel in Brazil. This vessel will be used for maritime mine sweeping, countermeasures, patrol, and search and rescue operations.
In 2023, TideWise secured a 10 million reais investment from the MSW Capital fund, with a round led by Embraer[7][8][9].
