Tailwal(तैलवाल) is a Garhwali  Brahmin community from Uttarkhand.they are Kanyakubja Brahmin .they came from Central India and settled in Garhwal Uttarkhand. There are many reasons behind the arrival of Brahmins in Uttarakhand. In the Puranas, Garhwal has been called Kedarkhand. For centuries, people from all over India have been coming here on religious pilgrimage to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath. Brahmins who went on religious pilgrimage settled here and Around 16 to 17 century Pandit Ramananda settled Uttarakhand in Taila village, since they were called Tailwal.
