It was also revealed that Kate Hallett and Herman Tømmeraas would play the leads, with Aya Furukawa, Justin Chatwin, Steven Ogg and Amanda Brugel joining the cast in supporting roles.[2][3] The film also received an additional $500,000 funding from the Ontario government through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).[4]
