Sunil Salve
[edit]Sunil Salve (born 1 June 1969) is an Indian politician, social activist, and a prominent member of the Republican Party of India (Athawale). He has been actively involved in the Ambedkarite movement for over 37 years and currently serves as the District President of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Salve is also a member of the Nannaj Gram Panchayat .
Early Life and Education
[edit]Sunil Salve was born on 1 June 1969 in Telangshi village, Maharashtra.
Political Career
[edit]Salve's political career began with his active involvement in the Ambedkarite movement. Over the years, he has held several positions, including being a member of the District Planning Committee of Ahmednagar. As the District President of RPI (Athawale) in Ahmednagar, he has worked on numerous initiatives to uplift marginalized communities and promote Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's philosophy of social justice and equality.
Contributions to Social Activism
[edit]As a social activist, Salve has been at the forefront of various campaigns advocating for the rights of Dalits, women, and other marginalized groups. Through his work as the editor of Pratighat, he highlights socio-political issues affecting the underprivileged, furthering the Ambedkarite ideology.
Awards and Recognition
[edit]In 2019-2020, Salve was honored with the prestigious Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samajbhushan Puraskar by the Government of Maharashtra for his contributions to social justice and community welfare.
