Reverend Dr. Sunday OlaOluwagbamila Dawodu is a Nigerian scholar and educator renowned for his contributions to ecocriticism and literature. Born in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria, to Pa. Solomon Olarenwaju Dawodu and Mrs. Mosunmola Dawodu, Dr. Dawodu’s academic journey commenced at the University of Lagos where he earned a degree in English Arts.

His early education included attendance at Anglican Primary School and Oriwu College, both in Ikorodu. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued further education, completing a Master’s and Ph.D. in English Arts at the University of Ibadan. His academic pursuits extended beyond literature, encompassing Information Management and Computer Education from Aptech International Computers College and a Post-graduate Diploma in Education from Tai Solarin University of Education.

Dr. Dawodu's career trajectory is marked by diverse roles. He began as a teacher through the National Youth Service Programme, gaining experience in Nigeria, Benin, and Togo. His professional journey also included a stint in the corporate world as Manager of Operations before returning to education.

A significant portion of his academic career was spent at William V.S. Tubman University in Liberia, where he served as the inaugural Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences. His contributions to the university extended to various committees and roles.

Dr. Dawodu’s scholarly work focuses on ecocriticism, exploring the intersection of literature and environmental issues. He has published extensively on the subject and is actively involved in youth empowerment through his organization, Quantum Leap. Currently, he serves as the Youth and Children Minister at Holy Cross Church in the United Kingdom.
