Mortimer C. Merritt (c. 1840 – died December 4, 1931) was an American architect known for his significant contributions to New York architecture.
Early life
[edit]Merrit was born in New York City around 1840.[1] graduated from the College of the City of New York (now City University of New York) in 1859, receiving a Master's Degree in Science.[2]
Career
[edit]Merritt established his firm in New York City and was a recognized architect by 1868.[1] One of his notable works includes the design of the O'Neill Building, completed in 1890.[3]

Death
[edit]Merritt died on December 4, 1931 at the age of 91. He was City University of New York's oldest living graduate at the time.[2]
