RAJASTHAN

Magnetic Fields festival takes place at the Palace Alsisar Mahal. The Alsisar Mahal, located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, India, is a historic palace that exemplifies the rich architectural and cultural heritage of the area[3]. Established in 1737 by Thakur Samrath Singh, a descendant of Raja Shardul Singh of Jhunjhunu, the palace originally served as a fortified stronghold. Over the centuries, it has witnessed significant historical events, including a notable battle in 1834 when the British Shekhawati Brigade, led by Colonel Henry Forrester, partially destroyed the palace during a confrontation with local Thikanas resisting British authority. In the mid-20th century, the palace underwent reconstruction, and extensive restoration efforts between 2000 and 2006 transformed it into a heritage hotel.[4] Today, Alsisar Mahal stands as a testament to Rajasthani grandeur, featuring intricate frescoes, expansive courtyards, and antique furnishings that reflect the opulence of its royal past.
