Leland W. Creadick (born July 1, 1995) a Frederick, Maryland native [1] is a prominent figure in the DMV soccer community, having held various roles within the sport. He currently holds the role of General Manager for the Alexandria Reds (VA) [2] National Premier Soccer League & United Premier Soccer League men's teams, both a part of the fourth tier (semi-professional) of the United States soccer league system.

In addition to managing the Reds, he has has also been featured on podcasts and in articles discussing football club management, the recruiting process, and his thoughts on Non-League football in the United States.[3]The Non-League Radio Show - Interview with Leland Creadick[1][4][5]

Managing Career

FC 1749 (Alexandria, VA)

In December of 2020, Creadick became a Co-Owner/President of non-league football side, FC 1749.[6] The team played its inaugural season in a local DMV soccer league called the Washington Premier League. The WPL is a part of the Maryland State Soccer Association, a member of the United States Adult Soccer Association The team finished as conference finalists with a 5-0-3 record. [7]

In the Spring of 2021, 1749 began playing in Division 2 of the Maryland Major Soccer League, a storied DMV amateur league that is a part of the United States Adult Soccer Association. The team finished the season undefeated with an overall record of 11-0-1. They were crowned MMSL Division 2 Champions after beating FC 4188 (MD) in the final by way of penalty kicks.[8] 1749 were awarded with promotion to the MMSL Division 1 for the 2021 Fall season. The group ended the regular season with a record of 7-3-0 and earned a spot in the playoffs. After a 4-1 result in the semi-final against Sure Sports FC, 1749 would take on AFC Dobes in the final. A back and forth match ended 3-2 in favor of 1749 and the group became MMSL Division 1 Champions. [6] After the MMSL season, the team competed in the Maryland State Soccer Association Stewart Cup advancing to the semi-finals where they lost to USL League Two side Christos FC (MD). [9]

After earning back to back Championships in the MMSL, the FC 1749 ownership group sought a new challenge. The group decided to enter in to the United Premier Soccer League Premier Division, DMV Conference in the Spring of 2022. The team earned a playoff appearance after going 6-2-4 in the regular season. Their season ultimately came to an end in the conference semi-finals to Lynchburg FC (VA) after a 2-1 loss. On July 25, 2022 FC 1749 merged with Alexandria Soccer Association (VA).[10]

In April of 2022, Alexandria Soccer Association announced the addition of a men's National Premier Soccer League team that would begin play in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.[11] Leland was announced as the team's General Manager on May 5, 2022 to oversee all operations.[12] The club appointed Will Hanna as the Head Coach for their inaugural season. The group saw instant success securing a playoff spot after earning the Mid-Atlantic Conference regular season champions trophy with a record of 7-1-2.[13] As a 1 seed, the Reds squared off against FC Frederick in the semi-finals and earned a 3-1 result. [14] The Reds went on to become Mid-Atlantic Conference Champions after taking down Northern Virginia United FC in a 6-5 thriller on July 16, 2022. “This was the craziest game I have ever been a part of,” Creadick said. “Our guys gave everything until the final whistle.  The supporters, our 12th man, braved awful conditions and stuck with us.  This win is for the organization and the city of Alexandria.  We will continue to push for more and look forward to what lies ahead". The 2022 season came to an end in the East Region Semi-finals after failing to get a result against Appalachian FC, losing 2-1. [16]

2023

As returning conference champions, Creadick and the Reds were eager to have continued success in the National Premier Soccer League during their sophomore campaign in 2023. The group went 6-2-2, finishing third in the conference during the regular season, with a notable regular season finale win over expansion side, Annapolis Blues FC in front of a 8,000+ in attendance at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.[17]

The Reds went on to beat Greenville United (NC) 5-3 in penalties after a 0-0 match, which would see them head back to the conference finals to face off against the 1st seed, Annapolis Blues FC on July 15, 2023.[18][19] The 2023 Mid-Atlantic Conference Finals saw the Reds lose 4-2 in penalty kicks after a 2-2 score at regulation. The match was played in front of 8,480 spectators at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.[20] The Reds ended the season 22nd in the national NPSL rankings. [21]

Creadick played high school soccer for the Middletown High School (MD) Knights between 2009-2013. He received All-Area Honorable Mention as a senior for Frederick County, MD boy's soccer. [2]

After high school Leland attended Hagerstown Community College where he played for 2 years between 2013/14 & 2014/15. During his time at HCC he started and played in 34 games, primarily as a center midfielder, adding 7 goals & 14 assists. Athletics He was named the team's Unsung Hero as a freshman and comeback player of the year as a sophomore. He earned Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference All Region XX 2nd team honors as a sophomore.

Senior (Amateur)

Played with ASA Charm City FC in the Maryland Major Soccer League in 2016/17.[23]

Leland acted as a player/manager for FC 1749 (VA) in 2021 and assisted in helping the team earn back to back titles in the Maryland Major Soccer League.

Personal

Leland was born in Frederick, Maryland and raised in Myersville, Maryland. He is the son of Wayne S. Creadick Jr. and Gina Creadick and has a twin brother named Patrick Creadick. He graduated from Middletown High School (Maryland)in 2013. He graduated from Hagerstown Community College in 2015 with an Associate Degree in Physical Education. He then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Hood College.
