Kaye Tuckerman is an Australian actress, singer, director, producer, and designer known for her versatile performances in musical theatre, films, and cabaret.
Early life and education
[edit]Kaye Tuckerman was born and raised in Allambie Heights, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.[1] She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Directing from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).[1]
Career
[edit]Tuckerman has held leading roles such as Donna Sheridan in the Broadway National Tour of "Mamma Mia!" (2010-2012).[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] She also portrayed the titular characters in "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812" (Broadway Asia 2024), "Wicked" (2019), the "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical" (Broadway 2018).[9][10][11][12][13] She has appeared in productions like "Les Misérables", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story".[14][15]
Tuckerman served as a body double for Carrie Ann Moss's character, Trinity, in "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions".[16][17]
As a director, Tuckerman helmed the documentary "Entanglement" (2022) for the Voices of Women feature, capturing narratives from women worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic.[18][19][20] She is also the artistic director of Voices of Women.[18][21][20]
Tuckerman received a nomination for an African Academy Award for her design work on the film "From a Whisper" (2008) by Wanuri Kahiu.[22]
