- Comment: No significant coverage of the corp itself. The first source doesn't mention it, and the second copies a quote and image from the company, with little independent analysis. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 12:48, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
JRDV Urban International is an architecture and urban planning firm based in Oakland California, Shanghai, China and Copenhagen, Denmark. The firm was founded in 2003 by Morten Jensen.
The firm is known for its mixed-use commercial architecture and master-planning inspired by traditional design.[1].
JRDV projects are located in USA, Europe, and Asia. Notable projects include the exterior design[2] of UBS Arena at Belmont Park in New York and the design of Bicester Village Shanghai in China.
Since 2011[3], it has been involved in the development of the West Oakland Specific Plan[4] (WOSP) in Oakland, California, a plan that focuses on the redevelopment of four key sites[5] in West Oakland. The WOSP includes improved connectivity to the Oakland Army Base. In 2014, the WOSP became the target of anti-gentrification activists concerned over the potential displacement of existing residents[6].
In 2023, the firm gained attention for its proposal to split a bridge planned to connect the district of Enghave Brygge to Islands Brygge in Copenhagen[7]. The proposal is currently under review in City Hall[8]
