History
[edit]iValue Group was established in May 2008 by Sunil Pillai and a team of 40 professionals with prior experience in value-added distribution[2]. The group was recognised as an "upcoming" and fast-growing Value Added Distributor (VAD) in the Indian technology market by 2013[5].
In late 2010, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) (now known as Hitachi Vanatara[6]) partnered with iValue InfoSolutions to expand its reach in the Indian and SAARC markets. The agreement positioned iValue as a distributor within the Hitachi TrueNorth Channel Partner Program. This collaboration focused on providing storage infrastructure platforms, storage management software, and storage consulting services to address the increasing regional demand for storage solutions. This initiative aimed to meet the growing storage requirements across various sectors within India and the SAARC region[7].
At first, the iValue group worked with the BFSI and government sectors[8]. Later on, it also introduced some of the major OEMs to India such as Yubico[9], Array Networks[10], A10 Networks[11], Stratus Technologies[12], CyberArk[13] and Tenable[14]. In 2010, the group had gotten the "Best VAD for 2010" award from HDS[15].
iValue also engaged in cloud services[5] and has worked with 80+ OEMs and 1000+ partners till date[4]. Magali Bohn, Director of Partnerships and Channels for Google Cloud in the GSEC region, stated that many enterprise customers operate in global hybrid and multi-cloud environments, requiring solutions to protect mission-critical data and applications. Google Cloud partnered with iValue Group, citing the company's established history of delivering IT solutions, to address this need. This partnership aimed to provide best-in-class security solutions to customers in India, Southeast Asia (SEA), and the SAARC region. Bohn emphasized iValue's expertise and regional reach as crucial factors in strengthening Google Cloud's presence and meeting evolving enterprise needs[3].
Building on an existing relationship between iValue Group and Google Cloud in these regions, iValue was positioned to support Google Cloud partners in delivering cloud services. This collaboration sought to accelerate the development and deployment of security solutions, underscoring a commitment to advancing cloud security in the targeted areas[3].
In 2021, iValue InfoSolutions announced a collaboration with SentinelOne, Inc., a cybersecurity company specializing in autonomous security platforms for endpoints, data centers, and cloud environments[16]. In early 2024, Nutanix selected iValue Group as its official value-added distributor for the Indian market[1].
Operations
[edit]Currently, iValue follows an indirect transaction model, working through a network of partnerships with OEMs[1]. iValue serves over 6,000 customers across sectors such as BFSI, IT/ITES, government, and manufacturing[17]. The group is one of India's fastest-growing strategic technology advisor and has partnered with giants such as Lenovo in late 2024. Lenovo will be offering it's infrastructure solutions, such as ThinkAgile, ThinkEdge, and ThinkSystem lines, with the help of iValue Infosolutions[4].
iValue has a direct sales presence in many countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Kenya[18] and nationally across more than 13 locations in India[19].The company believes in building strong strategic partnerships and emphasises providing its channel partners with the latest technologies that they can implement for their clients[20]. It heavily focuses on adding value to its partner's portfolios, according to its representatives and senior executives of the company, and incorporates an ecosystem-like experience for channel partners by empowering them with the cutting-edge networking and cloud solutions that they can provide to enterprises while also providing the support and resources necessary for implementation and data security[20][21]. iValue does this with the help of personalised engagement with their partners through tailored events, seminars, webinars, roundtables and strategic initiatives[21].
Investments and Financials
[edit]In 2019, Sundara (Mauritius) Ltd, an affiliate of the private equity firm Creador, invested $18 million in iValue InfoSolutions Pvt. Ltd. to acquire a minority stake in the company. This investment marks Creador's 31st overall since its establishment in 2011 and its 11th in the Indian market[22].
As of late 2024, senior executives Krishna Raj, Sunil Kumar, and Srinivasan Sriram have announced their intention to sell their equity shares as part of an offer-for-sale (OFS). Consequently, the entire proceeds from the issue, excluding expenses related to the initial public offering (IPO), will be directed to the selling shareholders. The company itself will not receive any funds from the offering.
Additionally, Sundara (Mauritius) Ltd, an affiliate of the private equity firm Creador, plans to sell 1.1 crore shares as part of the OFS.
For the financial year ending March 2024, iValue reported revenue from operations reflecting a marginal decline of over 2% compared to the previous year. However, the company's net profit rose by nearly 17% compared to FY2022-23.
As per the company's official documents, the promoters and the promoter group collectively hold a 49.14% stake, while the remaining 50.84% is owned by public shareholders[23]
