Ghorua (Bengali: ঘড়ুয়া)
[edit]Ghorua is a renowned village under Mostafapur Union Parishad, Moulvibazar Sadar, Sylhet,[1] Bangladesh.[2] It is located near the bank of Manu River. [3]
Geography:
[edit]Ghorua shares its border with some other villages named Kusarmohal, Srirampur, Srirai Nagar, and Rakha. Manu River[4] and Pouro Bus Terminal are just near of the village. It’s a small suburb area. It has an area of 7.3 square kilometers.[5]
Demography:
[edit]The total population of this village is around 487, total house is about 82.
Administration:
[edit]Ghorua Mouza is governed by no 11, Mastafapur Union Council, Moulvibazar Sub-district, ward No: 1.[6]
Social & Economic Condition:
[edit]There are two Mosques,[7] one Madrasah [8](Islamic Education Centre), a Hindu temple and an office of National Heart Foundation available there. The most of residents are living abroad such as UK, USA, Middle East etc. The village is adorned with luxurious buildings and attractive landscape.
To contribute in social and economic development of the village, Ghorua Welfare Society (a non-profit organisation) is established in 2016 by the patronisation of all dwellers living home and abroad.
