FusionAuth is an American company, headquartered in Westminster, Colorado. The company provides customer identity and access management (CIAM) software and cloud-hosting services for user registration, login, multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and access control.
On November 1st, 2023, it was announced that FusionAuth raised US$65M in a funding round led by the private equity firm, Updata Partners.[1]
History
[edit]FusionAuth was founded in 2016 by Brian Ponterelli as a subsidiary of Inversoft, Inc., which is also the parent company for CleanSpeak, a content moderation platform started before FusionAuth and whose profits have been used to fund its growth.[2]
Products and Technology
[edit]FusionAuth is built using Java and provides application programing interfaces (APIs), software developer kits (SDKs), and libraries for use in programing languages that include JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PHP, and .NET. It can be in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL databases.
FusionAuth's platform provides tools for authentication such as support for passwordless and social logins[3], user management for customer registration, role-based access control (RBAC)[4], and self-service account management, security features that include breached password detection, encryption, and compliance with SOC 2 Type 2 standards.[5]
