The Feeling Wheel is a psychological tool created by Dr. Gloria Willcox in 1982, designed to help individuals better understand and articulate their emotions. The wheel categorizes a wide range of feelings into six primary emotions: sadness, anger, fear, enjoyment, love, and surprise. Each primary emotion is further divided into more specific feelings, aiding in emotional literacy and self-awareness.[1]

The Feelings Wheel is a powerful tool that has been a go-to strategy for over the past 15 years when working with clients. It is instrumental in understanding one's emotions, developing an emotional vocabulary, and laying the foundation for emotional intelligence, which is centered around emotional awareness.[2]
