The Edoid people, are an ethnolinguistic group native to Southern Nigeria. They’re predominantly found in the states of Edo and Delta but are also present in the states of Ondo, Bayelsa and Rivers. They’re further subdivided into seven principal ethnicities: Edo (Benin), Urhobo, Esan, Etsako, Isoko, Owan and Akoko-Edo. The various Edoid ethnicities all speak Edoid languages and dialects natively.
