Demon Wala Kalan is a historic village located in the Nankana Sahib district, along the road connecting Bucheki to Baragarh and Sayedwala. This quaint village comprises approximately 150 houses and is home to the renowned Jamia Usmania Mosque, a focal point in the district.
Rich in history, Demon Wala Kalan was once the residence of notable figures such as Sardar Kishan Singh and Sardar Demon Singh before the partition. A significant landmark in the village is a historic haveli set on 8 kanals of land, showcasing the architectural legacy of the area.
The village is led by Sardar Ahsan Ullah Khan, the numberdar, who is a prominent political figure. He has made substantial contributions to the community by developing roads, schools for girls, and enhancing local infrastructure. His extensive experience includes roles as an ex-magistrate of Nankana Sahib, ex-nazim, ex-chairman, and ex-naib nazim of Sheikhupura District.
Demon Wala Kalan is also home to many renowned individuals, including Sardar Amanullah Khan, a former PASCO officer; Sardar Ikramullah, a former chairman; Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, District Head Officer of the Intelligence Bureau; Sardar Naeem Ullah Khan, a major; and Sardar Muhammad Kalim Ullah Khan, an advocate in the High Court. In addition, the village boasts several female doctors and officers, contributing to its vibrant community.
Agriculturally rich and peaceful, the majority of families in the village are of the Rajput heritage, though many prominent families also reside here. The village is characterized by its hardworking residents, most of whom migrated from Aandlu village in Raikot District, Ludhiana, India.
