Career Sparkle is a career planning service center in St. James’ Settlement, located in the Wan Chai Jockey Club Social Services Building, Hong Kong. The center was established in 2014 and that is the first youth career planning service center in Hong Kong.[1]

Objectives
[edit]Career Sparkle is dedicated to providing a variety of activities. Through programs and services offered, young people can explore their interests and skills, understand different work settings and requirements, and prepare for future academic and career development[2]. Through the activities offered, schools took part in the programs and reported that students gained more knowledge about their preferred careers and were able to further investigate their options[3][4]. Career Sparkle has a slogan that helps teenagers to “Make Your Dream And Career Choice”[5]. Students between the ages of 16 and 22 make up the majority of Career Sparkle's target users. [6]

[edit]The venue features six themed experience areas, including Esports and engineering, advertising and media, hospitality, medical care, aviation services, and other industry experience zones.[7]

Services and Programmes
[edit]The services and programmes offered by Career Sparkle aim to serve approximately 10,000 high school and college students each year. The center is dedicated to providing a variety of activities directed to tackle the occupational needs of secondary schools and college students, including experiential learning, such as Career Live games[7], personal growth training such as career kick-off camps and interview skills workshop. One example, In 2021, a simulated interview session for JUPAS is conducted[8]. Moreover, work experience activities (workplace visits, job shadowing programs, and service learning projects).[2]The main service offered by career sparkle is Career Live Job Experience game.[6]
Career Live Job Experience Game
[edit]There is an main programme named “Career Live Job Experience Game” 「CareerLive®職業體驗遊戲」allows high school students to immerse themselves in simulated work environments. They can wear work uniforms and use real tools and equipment to become employees in various industries, striving to meet job requirements[7].After completing the work experience, students will watch industry videos and learn about the realities, demands, and qualities of different professions through insights shared by experienced industry practitioners[3]. Some schools such as Mu Kuang English School[3] and Bethel High School[4], have played this game and reported positive experiences The goal is to encourage students to engage wholeheartedly, seize every opportunity, and find their path forward.[6]
"The Chin Family" Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2018
[edit]Undergraduate institutions at HKU Business School are invited to apply for this program. This team project competition, called the Finance Ambassador Program, aims to increase tertiary students' financial literacy and increase awareness of sound personal financial management in higher education. In order to spread financial education messages to HKU students on campus, participating students will receive training as Personal Finance Ambassadors during a camp and be expected to create and present a team project with financial support. Teams will have the opportunity to win $20,000 in cash prizes at the ceremony.[9]
Recruitment of Leaders and helpers
[edit]Different helper of leader that are interested and have ability to help and lead the operation in career sparkle have been invited in different timing and also within different institutions. Hong Kong Baptist University in 2019 have also been advertised for recruitment of leader[10]
History
[edit]The "St. James' Settlement Jockey Club Social Services Building," which was reconstructed on the site of the former Kennedy Town, was finished in July 2013 and dedicated on November 29 with a Thanksgiving ceremony. The new building will also house a number of creative projects, such as "Career Sparkle," a career planning service that provides hands-on activities to improve young people's employability. [11]
