Draft:American Techceptionalism
Submission declined on 29 April 2024 by CanonNi (talk). Neologisms are not considered suitable for Wikipedia unless they receive substantial use and press coverage; this requires strong evidence in independent, reliable, published sources. Links to sites specifically intended to promote the neologism itself do not establish its notability.

American Techceptionalism is a turn-of-phrase coined by Devon Fitzgerald, in her seminal work, The Silicon Valley Effect. The term is loosely defined as:
"[...]the idea that the United States is inherently a technologically and/or morally superior country, destined for global technological hegemony."
This term is used in reference to the idea that the United States has long enjoyed global dominance with respect to the technological spectrum, based in large part on their creation of the Internet.
