This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Allen Dennard, born Allen A. Dennard Jr. (June 16,1994) is a trumpeter, composer, recording artist, bandleader, and activist.[1] Dennard is currently the Jazz Director at the Detroit School of Arts through the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Dennard was born in Detroit Michigan on June 16,1994 and grew up there. He comes from a musical family; his father, Allen Dennard Sr., mother, Noreta Dennard, sister, Allena Williams, and aunt, Elreta Dodds, all have musical backgrounds.[2] Dennard began playing trumpet at the age of nine during his elementary school years and throughout high school studied the music and techniques of many of the early American jazz trumpet players.[3] He was subsequently mentored by trumpeter Marcus Belgrave (introduced to him by pianist Geri Allen), and is now a bandleader with three groups of his own which include a trio, quartet, and quintet.[4]
Dennard graduated (2016) from the University of Michigan (School of Music, Theater, and Dance) with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies.[5]
Activism
[edit]Dennard is a member of “Detroit will Breathe,” a civil rights activist group that became a substantial voice in Detroit for racial equality during the national uprising that resulted from the murder of George Floyd in 2020.[6]
Awards and Acknowledgements
[edit]Dennard’s Likeness was included in a public mural created by Torri Smith, located at 4219 Woodward Ave in Detroit’s Historic District, 2022.[7]
Dennard's quintet was selected to be showcased as a headliner at the 2022 Detroit International Jazz Festival.[8]
Dennard’s CD/Album “Flashback” was nominated for a Detroit Music award in 2023.[9]
