Alexander Panos (born 1996)[1] is an American electronic producer, songwriter and music software developer.
Biography
[edit]Panos started making music in the late 2000s on the internet website Newgrounds. Through his online contacts he befriended one of the owners of the record label Upscale Recordings, which assisted in the promotion of his debut album.[1]
Panos studied music composition and sound design in university, graduating in 2018.[1]
After listening to 22, A Million in 2016 and being fascinated with the harmonizer employed on songs such as "715 - CRΣΣKS" Panos started work on his own music software. After developing a plugin for multiple years.[1]
Panos started working on his debut album in 2019 and finally released Nascent in 2022. The album explores themes such as the creative process and communication. Tracks like "reasonsnotto" express this via reversed and processed vocals.[2] On his Bandcamp page he wrote "Nascent is about becoming, the desire to become a better human being, longing to actively participate in the world around you, striving to actualize your potential, and finding meaning in this process."[1]
Influences
[edit]In an interview with Firebird Magazine, Panos names the 2016 album 22, A Million by Bon Iver as a major influence on his musical style and especially Nascent. [1]
