Clogher Éire Óg (Irish: Clochar Éireann Óig) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club. The club is based in Clogher in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
History
[edit]The present club is in existence since 1938. A Team existed in Clogher (Rapparees) for a brief period in 1907-08. Clogher were a strong force in West Tyrone competitions in the period 1940-60; won West Tyrone senior league in 1951 and 1957, St. Enda Cup in 1961; finalists in Tyrone Senior Football Championship in 1948.
The club Won their first championship in 1972 they claimed the Junior title by defeating Eglis in the Final. A 2nd Junior championship followed in 2000 by defeating Dregish in the final.
A first League title was claimed in 1985 (Div 3) this achievement was even more notable as the club had to virtually play all of their games away from home as their own pitch was being redeveloped. The U18s won the MFL in 2001. At Reserve level, The club won their 1st title in 2015 (Div3 remaining undefeated throughout. A 2nd League title at Senior Level was won in 2018 (Div 3).
In 2013, the senior team finished runners up in the Junior league and just narrowly missed out on promotion via the playoffs.
In 2015, The Reserve team made history by claiming the club's first ever reserve league title. They remained unbeaten throughout the campaign.
In 2017, Clogher senior team were defeated in the Junior Championship Final, held in Carrickmore, by Tattyreagh. On course to the final Clogher had played Dregish, Brocagh and Clan na nGael.
Conor Shields was a panelist on The Tyrone Senior All Ireland winning team in 2021.
Ciarán Bogue was a key player in Tyrone U20s Ulster and All Ireland winning team in 2022
In 2018, Clogher won promotion to intermediate football, for the first time in 17 years, by winning the division 3 league.
The club stayed in the Intermediate division for 6 seasons until relegation in 2024
Facilities
[edit]They redeveloped and re-layed their existing pitch in 1987 into a modern prunty Pitch. A training pitch with floodlights was opened in 2002. In 2006, a covered stand was erected, overlooking the main pitch. In 2016, a Gym was built in the car park area of the grounds and
