There is the Indian Catholic Church too with a strength of atleast 14 million.

Christianity was brought to India by St.Thomas, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ in A.D.52.

There are basically 3 catholic rites in India: 1.Syro-Malabar Catholic Church 2.Syro-Malankara Catholic Church 3.Latin Catholic Church


The first two consists of descendants of people who were converted to christianity by St.Thomas and his disciples. Whereas the Latin Catholic Church consists of descendants of people who were converted to christianity by European missionaries from the late 15th century onwards.
