I have to question the utility of this category. If it is strictly for abandoned settlements, it could potentially include hundreds of places. And then I would have to ask how useful this information actually is: a collection of articles related by geography and the fact that they are abandoned? Also the articles currently in this category are not in fact lost; their locations are well known. I have been to Comana Pontica and can attest that it is not lost. There are actually people who live there, not very many to be sure, but the place is not altogether abandoned. This seems to me a clear case of WP:Overcategorization.
