Oppose If you look at Ottoman it has a wide amount of meanings. The biggest problem is that Ottoman refered specifically to the ruling family. In common usage the area was in the 19th and early 20th century actually called "Turkey", but using "Turkey" and "Turkish" would be way too confusing, and is not generally done in historical scholarship. However using just "Ottoman" is confusing, so most references need to use Ottoman Empire.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:19, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
