Scope of category
[edit]Hi, I have been discussing Solomon Islands categories at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Speedy#Current requests and noticed that this category seems to cover the Solomon Islands (archipelago) (including Bougainville) rather than the country of Solomon Islands. Is this correct? Should the category be renamed Category talk:Biota of the Solomon Islands (archipelago)? Should some or all of its subcategories also be disambiguated with (archipelago)?
Examples
- subcategory Category:Lists of biota of the Solomon Islands contains List of birds of the Solomon Islands archipelago and List of mammals of the Solomon Islands archipelago
- subcategory Category:Flora of the Solomon Islands (archipelago) covers the archipelago and excludes Category:Flora of the Santa Cruz Islands
- subcategory Category:Birds of the Solomon Islands includes Category:Birds of Bougainville Island

- Hi! I've been slowly trying to update the lists and haven't got to the Solomon's yet....it should not include Bougainville since that is part of Papua New Guinea.....thanks for reaching out...Pvmoutside (talk) 13:45, 10 September 2020
