Category:Important Bird Areas of South Australia
This category is for Important Bird Areas located within South Australia. An important bird area (IBA) is an area of the earth's surface that is considered by Birdlife International, an international non-governmental organization, as being globally important habitat for the conservation of bird populations. IBAs are only declared after an area has met one criterion from an agreed set of criteria published by Birdlife International. IBAs do not have statutory recognition in South Australia, although many do cover land that is part of protected areas declared by the South Australian Government. Items within this category should preferably be articles that discuss a particular IBA located within South Australia rather than a place or locality that within the boundaries of an IBA.
