The Cleveland area has several limited-access freeways and a tollway. Highways with one contiguous number through the area are separated into different segments and labeled -- for example, the Memorial Shoreway is Ohio State Route 2 through the central region of the area and then the Lakeland Freeway through the eastern region. Different naming conventions can be confusing to travellers visiting Cleveland, but are useful for commuters in determining which routes to avoid during peak travel times.
