This category is for venues that are principally established for, or which are notable as, places for the public playing of cue sports (other than snooker, which has its own Category:Snooker venues subcategory). It is intended for:

• Notable pool (pocket billiards) halls, past or present
• Notable carom billiards, English billiards, Russian billiards, etc., halls, past or present
• Notable billiard halls, past and present – in the general or vague sense of "billiards", i.e. a place that may have carom billiards and pool tables, or a place for which the exact meaning is unclear (note that without engaging in original research it is often uncertain what is meant by terms like "billiard hall" or "billiard parlour" as they appear in historical sources, due to "billiards" having different, sometimes overlapping, sometimes contradictory definitions in different contexts, regions and periods).

If reliable sources do not indicate that an addition to this category belongs here, it will be removed.
