Buôn Đôn is a rural district of Đắk Lắk province in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. As of 2003, the district had a population of 56,238.[1] The district covers an area of 1,414 km². The district capital lies at Ea Wer.[1]
Name
[edit]Its original name is Băn Dón (Buôn Dôn in Rhade language) from Laotian language, what means "the village of the isle". It is related with a small stone bund on Srepok River, where Laotian people have lived since XIX century.
