The Béla Bartók Music High School of Miskolc (Hungarian: Miskolci Bartók Béla Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskola) is a secondary school in Miskolc, Hungary, specializing in music education.[1] Founded in 1966, it shares its name with Béla Bartók, the Hungarian composer.
Located in Bartók Square, the school resides in the Palace of Music, a historic neo-baroque building completed between 1926 and 1927. It sits about 182 kilometers from Budapest, 48 kilometers from Slovakia, and 188 kilometers from Ukraine.
Educational programs
[edit]Béla Bartók Music High School offers classes for a Bachelor of Arts in Composition and Musicology, Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts, Master of Arts in Performing Arts, and various music teacher programs.[2] Students also perform at educator-organized department concerts.[2] In addition to their musical education, students complete standard secondary coursework, including music theory, composition, and performance.[citation needed]
