Andrew Armstrong (stuntman)

Andrew Armstrong is a British stuntman, second unit director, film director, and actor.

Life and Career

Armstorng was born in 1953 in Buckinghamshire, England to a family of stunt performers before starting his career in 1972.[1]

Between 1999 and 2006, he served as second unit director on Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, I, Robot, Eragon, Galaxy Quest, Chaos, and Planet of the Apes. He has also worked in the stunt department on films such as Hoffa, Air America, Charlie's Angels, and Stargate.[2]

In 2010, Armstrong served as stunt coordinator of the 2011 film Thor and then the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man, which his brother served as second unit director.[3]

In May 2016, Armstrong received the Taurus World Stunt Award's Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the industry.[4]

Armstrong is also an outspoken supporter of the United Stuntwomen's Association and for decades has fought against pre-conceptions for women in Stunts.[5]
