It is not a “tangled mess” of ioctls. 2. Also, I don’t know why it said “runtime”. OSes don’t have runtimes, but kernels! And libc is not a runtime, but just a library. Other languages usually have runtimes, but they also usually use libc. :) (I’ve just come from a week of deeply looking into syscalls and ioctls.) undo
