Delete. "Patinar" is a Spanish verb meaning to skate, not mentioned anywhere in English Wikipedia; there's no apparent connection of skating with Spanish language. Peter James (talk) 19:34, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I just read at H:IW#Links crossing languages and projects that a link like [[:en:w:Patinar]] might exist on Spanish Wikipedia. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 19:13, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That particular format does not work; however this format does: [[w:en:Patinar]]. See my Spanish talk page (subpage) for examples at w:es:Usuario discusión:Paine Ellsworth/Prueba de enlace. It is very possible that some people on Spanish Wikipedia link to this redirect. Perhaps we then should Keep to preserve links? – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 19:49, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just occurred to me I didn't really answer your question. w:es:Patinar redirects to an article on Spanish Wikipedia about skating that is mainly about the two categories, ice skating and roller skating. Patinar redirects to a disambiguation page here on English Wikipedia, so perhaps the link is used to illustrate the need on Spanish Wikipedia for a disambiguation page about skating. And there may be other reasons for the link of which I cannot conceive. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 06:26, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably delete. Not likely that someone would type this (or otherwise end up here) when looking for our article on colons or our article on punctuation, let alone anything else. It's only three months old, but perhaps that's not new enough for R3 speedy. 2001:18E8:2:1020:30F4:F313:6D39:FA4 (talk) 17:24, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect should be deleted, the subject has no notability except through the 2011 Anthony Weiner scandal (see Anthony Weiner sexting scandals). μηδείς (talk) 02:47, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate to refer name of presumably non-notable vineyard (or variety??) to the general article on the subject DGG ( talk ) 01:04, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that an article on this Virginia American Viticultural Area would be preferred to a redirect on to the general article on the state's wine industry. Not sure what other articles linking to this redirect have to do with the discussion. Why not be bold and create the article on the AVA?--RadioFan (talk) 01:10, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No longer a redirect. Beginnings of an article has been created.--RadioFan (talk) 02:02, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good work; that's the ideal solution--that's what ought to happen here. I withdraw the RfD, which is now moot. DGG ( talk ) 06:04, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate to redirect a particular nonnotable album to the overall genre. DGG ( talk ) 00:56, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was a typo. Wrong link was selected as the redirect target. Should have gone to the band's page. This has been fixed.--RadioFan (talk) 02:24, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering whether you might have meant that. I agree that's a highly appropriate thing to do. RfD is withdrawn as moot. DGG ( talk ) 06:10, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Marginally useful "spelling correction" for the name of a computer scientist that is mentioned in the references of two articles on Wikipedia: BATON Overlay and iDistance. Since the low profile of the redirect -- the chances of someone again linking to H V Jagadish instead of H. V. Jagadish are quite low, and then the link should be fixed, instead of relying on the redirect. I would argue differently if the redirect were named e.g. Hosagrahar Visvesvaraya Jagadish. I think we should delete this link, and leave the correction to the search function when it ever becomes necessary. --138.246.2.177 (talk) 17:05, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
