Shortcuts

Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request.

This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.

If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.

Please note that administrators may not ping you in replies, so please check on your request if you have not heard anything.

You do not need AWB access to:

fix duplicate references (see User:Polygnotus/DuplicateReferences)
fight vandalism (see WP:HUGGLE and WP:UV)
do category maintenance (see WP:CATALOT)
rate articles (see WP:RATER)

Hi, I am re-requesting AWB perms. It was last denied because I had shown zero need for it but this time, I think I do have a reason.

I had recently created Niagara (electoral district) and Middlesex North from a (redirect) to a Disambiguation page, and it has links. I would like to use AWB to update the links, and make it point to the right pages. I'm thinking there could be more "redirect-to-disambigaution" pages that would need updating links. @Pppery Sorry, could you inform me of the criteria? I thought it was 500 total main space edits or 250 non-automated mainspace edits, which I pass, as I have more than 500 total mainspace edits.
