Vanessa Getty (née Jarman; born 1972) is an American socialite and philanthropist.[1][2][3]

Life and career

[edit]

Getty was born in San Francisco to Claude Jarman Jr. (1934–2025), an actor, and Maryann Eve Opperman (née de Lichtenberg; 1942–2021), a ballerina.[4] She also has one sister, Natalie Jarman, from that marriage as well.

[5][6] She is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles.[7]

In 1999, she married Billy Getty, a son of Gordon Getty and Ann Getty, in the Napa Valley.[8][9][10] The couple have three children and are based in San Francisco.[7][11]

In 2015, she was named as an honorary co-chair of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.[12][13][14]

As a philanthropist, she has contributed in development of the Peninsula Humane Society. Getty is also the founder of San Francisco Bay Humane Friends.[7][15]

She supported and donated to the campaign of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the godmother to one of her children.[16][17]
