Vandalism Help
Could take a look at the tax evasion page history. Looks like it's DeepNikita sockpuppet. Could you add a filter for edits based on this targeted person, due to chronic BLP? It's a chronic problem if you look through the edit history.

Check-user request
Hi, I think this IP editor is the troll who has been harassing me based on this and this. Please block if so. Could you also please block this proxy based on clear evidence of being the same person here.
Just in the past few days, they have reported me and another editor for socking here (perhaps a much longer block for the offending IP is needed - the admin who gave the one week block probably was unaware of what's been going on) and I got a notice that someone tried to hack into my account. Apparently things are going to get worse before getting better! Newshunter12 (talk) 15:36, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- I've put down a couple of VPN range blocks, which includes all those mentioned. -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:43, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

- I am currently running this AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Virginia McLaurin, and the IP voter 172.56.28.248 is almost certainly the troll who has been stalking me. Could you please block them and is it possible to semi-protect the AfD to block IP participation? Such a restriction isn't ideal, but not that many IP's even vote at AfD anyway and we know this person is just going to keep returning and mucking up the discussion. I understand if that isn't possible. Thank you for any help you can provide. Newshunter12 (talk) 02:13, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Heads up
Hi Zzuuzz! Thanks for keeping an eye on the user creation log and other places, and for putting a kibosh to the recent... creations... ;-). I just ran into two more accounts that may be connected: Fuckingmylife, and Mydickburnsalotman. I figured that I'd let you know; they might be connected, or coincidentally just accounts that needed the mop and broom. ;-) I hope you have a great day, and I wish you happy editing. - @MrClog: As you can probably see I'm currently experiencing some time issues, which might persist for a while. So, I can't really think of a better test than running through the ten reports (on this page) which are currently listed at WP:OP. One thing I'd like to stress is that it's absolutely fine to not know the answer to something, but wrong answers are never a good thing. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:38, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- I would have preferred, as I tried to mention, responses on this page. I think there is still some way to go. -- zzuuzz (talk) 21:33, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- @MrClog: Let me put it another way, for when you return from your wikibreak. You'd be welcome to follow WP:OP, to second guess the results, and to provide relevant comments, as a way to build up experience. I'd prefer however, if you didn't use the templates on the page or recommend blocks at this stage. -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:40, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Sockpuppet
Hi. Can you perform a check on Atheera raj illalai? Agenda-driven, disruptive editing and personal attacks. All edits (other than in his own talk page) has been reverted by editors like Cyphoidbomb or Begoon. Likely a block evasion, at one point they attempted asking, but the user "acts" like nuts (possibly a trick for evading more questions), talks nonsense or abuse other Wikipedians. Definitely demands a probe. So, could you please. 2405:204:D20A:24D5:EC88:83A8:4053:B3E (talk) 19:19, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- Nothing springs to mind. I suspect their available time on the English Wikipedia may be limited in any case. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:41, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- Found out previous accounts – Anoop Balakumar and Anoop Balak, endorsing Dileep and Akshay Kumar, abusing Shah Rukh Khan, same behavior on talk. The question is how many more accounts? This person is abusively using multiple accounts. 2405:204:D205:5F2A:3499:F2EF:7E6C:6054 (talk) 09:33, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
Re:Sub Judice UK banner
Hello, I've been away for a couple of days so missed this discussion. Hopefully it's resolved now but I just wanted to comment on what happened. Somebody added the template to the 2019 British prorogation controversy article and I didn't think that was an appropriate place for it so I moved it to the talk page, although personally I still don't feel it's an appropriate use of that template. My understanding has always been it gets used in articles about criminal cases while legal proceedings are still ongoing to warn editors to err on the side of caution about what they add until the case is over. I wonder though if it doesn't just make matters more complicated than they have to be. I'd support a TFD nomination if you submit one, and for any other related stuff (there are clones of this for other countries that use English law. This is Paul (talk) 15:56, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, which makes some sense. As well as the ANI and refdesk discussions, you may want to check out the current TfD page and my comment there. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:03, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi zzuuzz, Many thanks for looking into those 3 users who seemed to be part of an UPE farm. What do you make of the newly emerged user after the blocks? Identical editing behaviour, similar sort of time frame of account creation. Thx. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 13:15, 20 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, some very similar technical characteristics and lots of duck behaviour. I'll take a deeper look later, but I already partially foresee a block. You know, they call them farms because you can never get them clean. -- zzuuzz (talk) 13:44, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

At it again I see with Philippine related articles and "revive me" unblock requests over the last three days, sometimes pinging certain users. Iggy (Swan) (What I've been doing to maintain Wikipedia) 13:18, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

- As we now know, the troll was at it again. Generally, I do not like it that I was mentioned in an edit summary with inappropriate editing happening from the recent vandal. But thank goodness the edit summary was removed. Iggy (Swan) (What I've been doing to maintain Wikipedia) 13:51, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Some cross-wiki abuse
Only a few days ago, one of the fellow administrators has blocked an IP address for persistent vandalism. The same IP address today had been vandalising the Spanish version of Wikipedia (3 times) and Commons (4 times) with the same theme, the latter has been blocked already. I've spotted that because the IP address had left messages on my talk pages in both these versions Are the amount of edits enough for a global lock since that could be block evasion but elsewhere? Iggy (Swan) (What I've been doing to maintain Wikipedia) 14:24, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- I would have thought so. They're also pesting on nlwiki, and it seems a relatively static IP. You know the place right? -- zzuuzz (talk) 14:50, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Actually, I did not know the place but I have reported it now. The admins may think there is enough disruption for locking if they see the global user contributions list. I have counted 10 edits made. Iggy (Swan) (What I've been doing to maintain Wikipedia) 15:31, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

In relation to the ongoing issue on this article, I believe this IP (112.160.42.104 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)) must be the same person, in case you hadn't seen. IWI (chat) 23:59, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking care of the PC. The previous IPs were open proxies, not yet certain about this one. I thus suspect that the solution doesn't lie with blocks (and have set about acting accordingly). -- zzuuzz (talk) 00:11, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

Long Term Abuse User
Recently you performed admin tasks on a user and in the summary listed them as a long term abuse user. My question to you is where and how you were able to determine this within the three minutes since account creation and four edits the vandal performed. I am rather impressed btw. Mr Xaero ☎️ 00:24, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- There was probably something familiar, and I have a lot of experience with some types of things. I've dealt with several LTAs recently - if you're more specific I might be able to be more specific. -- zzuuzz (talk) 00:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- This would be for the user "Roll the Dice...Roll the Dice.". The account was created and within three minutes there were four edits and a block. SPI stuff
Hi. Qajnearbeit and MitBlume have been editing articles of the same topic. A few hours after starting to edit, the former expanded some content just added by the latter [3]. Both have been blocked on the Albanian Wikipedia as socks of Osourdounmou. Can the block on the Albanian Wikipedia be used as evidence that Qajnearbeit and MitBlume are socks of Osourdounmou? If not, can you run a CU on Qajnearbeit and MitBlume to prove the former as a sock of the latter? I see the busy template on the top of the talk page, so if you do not have time for a CU, you would be helpful by telling me whether the Albanian Wikipedia can be used as evidence if I file a SPI report or not. Ktrimi991 (talk) 22:26, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
- The business it comes and it goes, so I just leave the tag there. Hold on while I familiarise myself with Albanian, Rülpsmann, and any other things. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:43, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
- I forgot to clarify that Qajnearbeit and MitBlume have been blocked on the Alb Wikipedia as socks of Goelia. Accounts that have been blocked on the Alb Wiki as socks of Goelia, have been blocked on enwiki as socks of Osourdounmou (Hayodzazgi, Tschenarin, Tugrad, Diradul, Sonra Mint and so on). Osourdounmou and Goelia are the same person (Goelia being the oldest account). The guy has socked enough to make his history a mess. Ktrimi991 (talk) 22:58, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

- Who knows what was Osourdounmou's original account: Goelia, Rülpsmann or another one. I just wish I gained a dollar for every sock he creates. Since you added to the block logs of Qajnearbeit and MitBlume a link to the SPI page of Osourdounmou, I have a last question. If I see in the future a possible sock of Osourdounmou, may I file a SPI with a request for a CU to compare Osourdounmou's possible sock with Qajnearbeit and MitBlume? Ktrimi991 (talk) 23:37, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- The question above is raised again as two new accounts, [4] and [5], have made similar edits to confirmed socks of Osourdounmou. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

Hi. I’ve had conflicts with a few editors and suddenly an out-of-the-blue revert of one of their edits, by me, appeared, which I certainly did not commit on purpose. I immediately changed my password, but I’d like to determine whether this was actually some weird glitch I can’t explain, or if someone guessed or hacked my login and decided to make me look bad. The only single suspicious edit I’ve found is this one to the article Kobenz. Thanks. —Michael Z. 2019-11-27 18:24 z
- Hi Mzajac (and Ymblanter). This edit was made at a place you have been editing from, with a device you have used several times before (for example here). My conclusion is that this is an accidental rollback, a 'butt-click', your pet cat, or similar. I have no concerns, but feel free to keep me updated. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:55, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
- Great, thanks. Looks indeed like an accidental rollback to me.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:58, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry
No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well Zzuuzz. MarnetteD|Talk 17:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC) |

Rangeblock query
Hi Zzuuzz - not sure if you're au fait with rangeblocks, but if you are, could you look at one for 201.247.43.183, 190.62.251.218, 79.223.169.218 - identical image-based vandalism (amongst other stuff) from each. Nosebagbear (talk) 00:17, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. It's an open proxy network, so range blocks will not form a significant part of any solution :/ -- zzuuzz (talk) 00:27, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
CU Rqst
Hey. Was wondering if you could do a CU check on User:Jude1313 and User:PunCrock per WP:QUACK?. I think they are related to User:Uranarse . One user also expressed the same in a talk page. These accounts are editing in similar type of pages in a similar way.- Akhiljaxxn (talk) 13:45, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
- Per this, Jude1313 and Uranarse are unrelated. As for the others, I'm not seeing a smoking gun. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:50, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
RevDel
Hi Zzuuzz,
I noticed that you revdel stuff on my talk page. Can you please explain why you did that? Interstellarity (talk) 13:32, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- See their edits. It's not just you, they posted the same thing on other user's talk pages. Those edits likely had materials that you don't want to/shouldn't see. (talk page stalker) Masum Reza📞 13:43, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Interstellarity. I did that, because no one wants to see that. If you know about the IP's edits on your talk page (and elsewhere) about a week ago, it is not dissimilar. If you want to discuss it further, drop me an email. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:11, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Trolling
Thank you for intervening at Talk:List of the oldest living people. Might I suggest adding page protection for a month, so that the troll can't keep repeating their actions at the RfC? Thank you for any further help you can provide. Newshunter12 (talk) 04:17, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- I've protected it. The 3 IPs look like they're on a /16, so unless there's a way to narrow it down I'm not sure a rangeblock is possible. One of them showed up on my talkpage, in case you get any love letters here too. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 04:40, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

Oldest living people RFC
Can you remove my struck comment from the RFC on the List of the Oldest Living People talk page ? I don't want it to effect the rest of the vote/discussion. 172.58.142.141 (talk) 10:40, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think it will affect much. On the other hand, it might be useful to draw scrutiny to any suspicious new accounts which might turn up. -- zzuuzz (talk) 15:22, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- I changed my mind I actually agree with lowering the amount of supercentenarians to 50 but I have no plans to participate in the discussion so you can remove the protection and blank out my comment if you want. 172.58.139.8 (talk) 02:59, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

- No problem. There was a (long-term) sock farm active a couple of years ago who did this kind of thing. I can't remember the name, but it looks probable that it's them. -- zzuuzz (talk) 12:44, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking into it. I was discussing with someone else about the possibility of a filter but I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what we can possibly filter against since the only common tie is that it tends to be super low profile/view articles about places (I found another one recently too) and while the hijacking isn't exactly subtle, it tends to fly under the radar. Obviously for the sake of beans I won't go full into detail but I'd imagine we can't filter based on article popularity + moves. Praxidicae (talk) 12:47, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- You might also be interested in checking this out which is actually how I found them. I've come across roughly 100 sites that are widely used on WP which were either once reputable or in a lot of cases, never reputable but no one bothered to look at the fact that it's clearly fake news in that they take stock images and claim that they are their authors, write gibberish and then published paid for articles about non-notable subjects. Also fun fact, that about us page that I linked? The second and third author are Joel Verminimage, and Keith Kinkaid(image). There's even one where they claim Uma Thurman "Una Brealey" and Terence Everitt "Terrence Jobs" are their staff writers. Praxidicae (talk) 12:57, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

- Ahh I should've known! Though I'm not sure all the other editors participating in this are necessarily the same person, they're definitely all engaging in the same, truly disgusting and deceptive business practices. Some of the links I posted on my user page are one firm using the identity of an elderly woman. :( It's truly terrible and extends beyond just WP spam. Praxidicae (talk) 13:35, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Unblocking an IP
Good day. User:110.54.192.29 appears to be blocked. She is someone I know and cannot create an account because of this. She is using her mobile data to access Wikipedia. It looks like she is affected by a rangeblock. Is there a way she can create an account? -Hiwilms (talk) 08:34, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello @Hiwilms:. This is one of the most problematic ranges on Wikipedia, so unfortunately it won't be unblocked. The first thing I'd say is that a lot of people on this network can also use other ranges, so if they've only tried once then maybe try again. If that fails there are usually lots of options available, for example a different network, a coffee shop, a local municipal network (like a library), a wifi hotspot, a family member, a trusted friend, or someone else's data SIM. Lastly I can recommend you get her email address and create her account for her: Special:CreateAccount. -- zzuuzz (talk) 09:23, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks for the advice! I'll create an account for her. -Hiwilms (talk) 11:48, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
