Query

Yo, I uploaded an apparently free image of Mary-Kate Olsen which you removed from said article with the explanation "not actually a free license image". The image is sourced from Flickr, where it is under a CC, Wiki-compatible license. Now I can't find any trace of the image either on Wikipedia or Commons. I've used similarly sourced images in the Olsen Twins and [[Ashley Olsen] articles, so if there was something wrong with the Mary-Kate Olsen image, those images should probably be looked at too. I'd say that a good 10-30% of supposed CC images on Flickr simply aren't. People upload images as Creative Commons, totally oblivious to what the license even is. This image, if you looked at the bottom, has a desktop background website address. A tag has been placed on Template:Gmail storage requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. Hi

Can a cool admin help a guy out? I want to add one sentence to the world of Wikipedia. But I can't. The sentence is factual, provable, reliable (I chose the New York Times version.)

Circumcision may decrease a man's risk of getting HIV but it may also INCREASE a man's risk of getting herpes and chlamydia. (and some doctors even say other STD's too but I won't get into that and I wouldn't put caps on INCREASE.)

The article on circumcision mentions the term HIV probably 100 times (I'm not joking) and mentions "herpes" or "chlamydia" not Once. Click on the article. You tell me if it's an article on the procedure or a pro-circumcision propaganda pamphlet.

Can a cool admin stop two guys named Avraham and Jakew (the site's dictators) from deleting my one sentence I want to add? Or possibly get new Admins to take over this article, which has fallen way below Wikipedia standards.

Deletion Debate: Katherine St-Laurent Article

Thanks again for your help with the deletion debate over the Alana Grace article. There's another debate where your opinion would be helpful - on a question of consistency. I did an article on Katherine St-Laurent who recently finished in 9th. place in this summer's Canadian Idol competition. The article has been proposed for deletion. I checked on other Wikipedia articles on Top 10 finishers in the Canadian and American Idol competitions, and found that yes there were individual articles on all but one of the 9th. place finishers, and that these articles have been in place for some time. It strikes me that the operative rule - at least in practice - is to leave Top 10 Idol articles in place, in which case the Katherine St-Laurent article should stay in. Anything you can say on this would be very helpful. If you see a good case for deletion, I'll bow out of this debate, but I do think that there is equity in consistency. Thanks for anything you can do about this!

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
