Bobhurteau (talk) 18:39, 6 June 2015 (UTC) Dear ToonLucas22: as you may have guessed, this is my first time creating a Wikipedia page. The article I have submitted is brief, meant only to get at least a reference to Rev. John Joseph Considine on Wikipedia. As I am the author of a biography of Fr. Considine (Hurteau, Robert. A Worldwide Heart: The Life of Maryknoll Father John J. Considine. Maryknoll, NY: Orbis, 2013.), I can certainly add more, but thought it was important first just to get the most basic information about him and his contributions posted. As you will note in my re-submission, I have included links to other Wikipedia pages. In doing so, I note that there is a Wikipedia page for Kenneth Scott Latourette, Considine's friend and contemporary; I wonder why that Protestant scholar of Christian missions is deserving of a Wikipedia page and not Fr. Considine? The both were extensively published.
Thank you for your work on this.

- From WP:NPP: In particular, an article should not be tagged for speedy delete using A7 for not being notable (in your opinion): an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, it only has to pass the much lower test of asserting importance or significance (whether it actually is notable is a subject for an AfD discussion, not a speedy deletion). Consider using a Notability tag instead of a speedy delete tag. Also, an article should not be tagged for speedy deletion if it's possible that it might be improved into an article which should be kept. Pay attention to the guideline "Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete." - But "famous for co-writing and directing the television series NY-LON and the horror film Incubus, starring Tara Reid" is a claim of notability (specifically, a claim of item 3 of WP:FILMMAKER). An even if there is no claim of notability for a potentially notable subject, flagging the article under A7 within seconds of creation because it hasn't yet made such a claim goes against the second part of the text I quoted above (the part about not tagging a page soon after creation because it appears incomplete). --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 15:22, 17 June 2015 (UTC)- I think there is actually a lot of misunderstanding here and that leads me to belive that the recommendation at WP:NPP are also misunderstood or not being followed, or simply have not been read. The page at NPP needs prospective patrollers to sit down, read it thoroughy, understand it, and then start patrolling. ToonLucas22 has evidently missed the part that infers that A1 and A3 should not be tagged for deletion within minutes of creation unless they are obvious;y a joke, vandalism, or plain nonsense - in which case we also have separate CSD categories.; There is no rule on Wikipedia that articles may not be developed straight away in mainspace (unfortunately), so any one-liner that is not toxic should be given time to see if the creator has any itention of developing it further. That's why the Curation Toolbar clearly states 'This article was only created X minutes ago' and it is also a policy that Caution is needed when using this tag on newly created articles.. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:59, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to User:Andhisteam does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list and
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Compassionate727 (talk) 12:40, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- I did not include an edit summary because it wasn't pretty much necessary, and please avoid templating the regulars (altrough there may be exceptions, such as warning others of edit warring). --TL22 (talk) 13:33, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- Alright, though please include an edit summary anyway: it helps us recent changes patrollers decide whether or not we need to check for vandalism. Compassionate727 (talk) 14:07, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Just a note to you directly if you can assist. Gary has been uncivil towards me as of late and I am unable to find the appropriate place to report it. His reporting of me for edit warring (which I have responded to) is a part of this incivility. I don't want to include that in the edit warring report because I want that judged on it's merits. Adding the incivility will just cloud the whole thing outside of it's intention on that noticeboard. His incivility extends to his incredible paranoia over the banned user Justa Punk - reporting two IP's upon one "suspicious" edit only, and his reaction to my challenge on his talk page - which he removed. My side of the conversation can be seen on my talk page under "Justa Punk" (I can't link it at present as my page doesn't have enough sections). Curse of Fenric (talk) 22:10, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

June 29th,
On June 6th you rejected a submission on the Chester Creek Trail. You cited the reason as there being another entry on the same topic. SPA tag and me
Hi there- I noticed you went through my user page and changed all the signatures to normal. I do appreciate this, but I should let you know- for a while there, the SPA tag essentially was my signature because people kept going around adding it to every comment I made everywhere, and I found it dissuaded them from doing so. I thought it was clever, but it wasn't perhaps the most dignified of moves I could make. I've changed it to something normal now. Thank you. PeterTheFourth (talk) 22:31, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Sarowar Parvej
A tag has been placed on User:Sarowar Parvej requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
The discussion is at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Colour. You might have the courtesy to examine the consensus already there before inserting your personal preferences into the MOS. RexxS (talk) 03:00, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- @RexxS: I only removed the line ONCE, that is not edit warring. --TL22 (talk) 12:41, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- There's no minimum number of reverts needed to be edit-warring. The edit in question had already been the subject of an edit war and was under discussion on the talk page. There is now a clear consensus there that the guidance is appropriate, so your edit merely re-ignited the warring. Congratulations. Have a look at WP:AVOIDEDITWAR and see if you can avoid such errors in future. --RexxS (talk) 13:01, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Informing people of TfDs
Hey ToonLucas22. Please see step III at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion#Listing a template. I just noticed that the discussion of {{Uw-paid1}} etc. had been closed at TfD as keep – without ever knowing they were up for deletion. I have over ten thousand pages on my watchlist and unfortunately missed these. I probably should clean that up a bit, but nevertheless, as the creator of the four templates, your first stop after nominating should have been my talk page, to notify me directly. I am annoyed, even after the keep, that I did not get to participate. Following the notification step will also keep people from later using that as a subsequent basis to overturn the discussion. I can tell you that had this resulted in deletion, I would be composing my deletion review nomination right now. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:23, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

VGSCOPE may be an issue (lists of cars featured in racing games tends to get that way), but I will point out that the last part, about notability of lists, is not true. Per WP:LISTN, we like lists to have their standalone notability, but there is no consensus for other types of lists, such as one that requires gathering data from multiple RSes to build out. I am not saying that the PROD of that list is right or not, but I only saw that as the user that created the page is now reactionary-spamming tons of other DLC lists that have already been confirmed okay with the exact same reasoning. --MASEM (t) 20:54, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
Hi Letcreate123,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Your revert on the Anzac-class frigate article on 10:28, 20 March 2015
Stdawe (talk) 10:16, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
I noted that a change that was made earlier the same day, probably by myself (novice user, forgot to log in) was reverted by you as factually incorrect. The change was to indicate that the 9LV products provided to the Anzac class are by Saab, not by CelsiusTech. All of Celsius was acquired by Saab 1999/2000, including CelsiusTech and the 9LV product. References are available on the Saab Group page as well as on the 9LV page itself.
I was attempting to make the article up to date, and it's my impression that the updated text is more relevant (as Saab is the current supplier to RAN) than the old (that CelsiusTech was the supplier before 2000).
Please advice, preferably with a reference to Wikipedia policy (as I am a novice user). Perhaps the wording should be "Saab (former CelsiusTech)"?
- @Stdawe: I had no idea about the thing. But you probably shouldn't be discussing over an edit that happened over a year and half ago. Feel free to re-do the change if you need to, though. --TL22 (talk) 23:27, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
Hi there, although I agree that Morgz is likely a candidate for speedy deletion, I did want to mention that tagging an article moments after creation is a bit bitey and doesn't really assume good faith. This, of course, doesn't apply to things like vandalism or attack pages, but generally giving a new user 10+ minutes is a good rule of thumb. —Non-Dropframe talk 20:16, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Ah, my apologies. It's been some time since I last used Huggle so I kind of forgot that. Thanks for the reminder, by the way. --TL22 (talk) 20:30, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
Rejected link on Madness and the Minotaur page
Toon,
I got your message on my posted link on the Madness and the Minotaur page.
I have read the link guidelines that you hooked me up to but it wasn't clear if or if not my link should be posted, and/or where. Should I post it in the External Links section? Or not at all?
I ran across this valuable(?) link in a boredom induced stupor longing for the 'good ol' days' when 32k RAM was a sparkling addition to the 'newest 1981 tech' available. This emulator is a wonderful tool for reminiscing about and using the Tandy Color Computer®.
Also the External Link posted "Play Madness and the Minotaur on-line" is no longer active. Can this be replaced with the link I offered?
Thanks for you time and all that you do for us.

Hello, I'm ToonLucas22. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Despina Papadopoulos because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. TL22 (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
Why did you think they were inappropriate? I am not sure I understand - this was an NGO funded project with great impact. Can you please explain- thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dp dean ny (talk • contribs) 22:01, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Dp dean ny: The problem is that external links should rarely be used in prose, if at all. If you believe the page would still benefit from that external link, feel free to add it to the External links section of the page. If you still have questions, I'd suggest reading WP:EL. --TL22 (talk) 22:06, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
Thank you - I am new to editing so this was helpful! thanks again, will keep in mind. I will add it as an external reference. dp_dean_ny — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dp dean ny (talk • contribs) 22:10, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

Your draft article, Draft:Sora (video game)
Hello, ToonLucas22. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sora".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Sam Sailor 17:58, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

DJ Q
Hello hope you are well.
You have notified me that I have added incorrect information to DJ Q's Wikipedia page. Wikipedia incorrectly stated that his real name was Paul Flynn which upon searching the internet there was nothing to confirm that - he is a seperate DJ Q to the wikipedia page I edited.
Proof that DJ Q's real name is Shollen Quarshie was already in the citations so I'm unsure as to why you removed my edit.
Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.24.104.240 (talk) 00:05, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
That Chinese word
Toon, I don't think you realize what is being sourced by user-generatied content. That link to urban dictionary exists in the article, because it is being used as a source for the statement "Soon, the word was inscribed on Urban Dictionary " Now, I am not that profficient with Wiki rules, so I can't link you the precise rule that regulates situations like this, but I've seen user-generated content being used and approved by admins in situations like this a few times, and even the basic logics confirms that this obviously should be allowed here. Karl.i.biased (talk) 02:52, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- As I said in your talk page, the information is completely irrelevant if there is no significant coverage from secondary, reliable sources for it. --TL22 (talk) 02:53, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- And since both of you are at three reverts each, I trust this matter will continue at talk pages (although the article talk would be preferred) and not on the article proper. —C.Fred (talk) 03:00, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
DJ Q update (still not vandalism?)
My edits are not vandalism. "Paul Flynn" is a seperate DJ Q. He is not the subject of the wikipedia article DJ Q.
DJ Q's real name is Shollen Quarshie. The references/citations 1 and 2 both state that his name is Shollen Quarshie and there is no mention of him being Paul Flynn.
If anything the "vandalism" is whoever edited it to say "Paul Flynn", though if you could kindly explain to me how I am "vandalising" it by adding correct information cited in those references then I'd be very grateful.
Kind regards

Survey Invite
I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.
I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.
Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 14:03, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
