Combine all iPhones into one table planning
[edit]Hi there,
I'm trying to merge all iPhone from four sections (In production, discontinued support, discontinued unsupport 64 bit and discontinued unsupport 32 bit) into one table. I am doing the table prototype in my own profile page and you may look at here (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:KLPeople/sandbox/iphone_in_a_table)
The reason I do so is because all the iPhone table criteria will be consistent, as well as let every contributors update the table content more easier and more effective, so that they need not to edit in multiple tables.
The another reason is, sometimes when some iPhones has been discontinued or unsupported, it requires lots of time to move the whole iPhone data from a table to another table as the colspan has to be redefined. If I merge all together into one table, the contributors just only need to change the iPhone status color as well as slightly change the discontinued date and unsupported date. For new iPhones, the contributors just need to add in the left side column (my order is from left to right, new to old)
So, what do you think about it?
- Hi KLPeople, I would recommend mentioning this on the talk page first. I think it's a good idea, however the table might be too wide. Having one section for the supported models and another section for the unsupported models might work better in my opinion. Ghostofakina (talk) 22:31, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
Hmm, I mentioned it in that talk page but seems like no one comments.
Combine all iPhones into one table planning (cont)
[edit]Hi there,
Based on your earlier suggestions, I had made two table for supported iPhones and unsupported iPhones, which separated from the initial table.
You may look around the prototype at here:
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:KLPeople/sandbox/iphone_in_a_table
If no problem, I think I can update the iPhone section in iOS device list page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KLPeople (talk • contribs) 14:42, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Why did you delete Cortex A-510 in Template:Application ARM-based chips ?
[edit]? Homei (talk) 13:33, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't think it was necessary as it is always paired with the A710. I suppose that since it is a separate core, it can be included. Ghostofakina (talk) 02:37, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
- It's up to the manufacturer which cores they want to pair. They are only paired together as they are the only ones that both support ARMv9! They can easily make a new, say Raspberry Pi, that has just 4x Cortex A-510 for lower power consumption! Something like this may come out in the coming years. :D Homei (talk) 09:40, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Reminder
[edit]I just want to let you know that the reason why I call the tenth generation iPad the iPad X is because 1. X is 10 in Roman numerals. 2. Apple has called the iPhone 10 the iPhone X.
I know there is no source calling it that.

[edit]Hello, I'm Wpscatter. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of Mac models grouped by CPU type, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. WPscatter t/c 20:58, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
Apple timeline templates
[edit]I see you've been doing some great work on the Apple timeline templates! I've just made a couple of Bold changes to them and would like your opinion.
- I added Mac Studio to {{Timeline of Power Macintosh, Pro, and Studio models}} (and changed the template's name to reflect that). It seems to me that the Studio is become a quasi-pro-level Mac and should feature in that timeline.
- I added CEOs to {{Timeline of Apple Inc. products}}. It also seems like it would be helpful to see the evolution of the company compared to its leadership.
What do you think? —GoldRingChip 01:17, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- Adding the Mac Studio makes sense since the Studio and Pro share the same SoC now and have similar performance.
- As for adding CEOs, the executives prior to Jobs are not as well known, so including them as a reference is helpful for readers.
