Editing logged out
Hello, Rusty4321,
Since you now have a created user account, please log in to do all of your editing, Rusty4321. I think there is a box you can check that will keep you logged in which I recommend you do on your personal computing devices but not on a public computer. Editing logged out can also expose your IP number to others and most people want to keep that information private.
If you have any questions about editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:14, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
Speedy tagging
You do not have sufficient experience to speedy tag articles. You tagged Khoshal Sadat with WP:G5. I declined it because it doesn't apply. Until you have gained significantly more experience, do not speedy tag any pages.--Bbb23 (talk) 02:08, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Bbb23: Sorry, I looked at the page history and saw that it was created by a blocked user. I should have looked into it more before tagging. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 19:55, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- True, but, regardless, don't tag any more articles. Besides your two alternate accounts, what other accounts have you had on Wikiedia?--Bbb23 (talk) 20:46, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- I think it's strange that you ask that, but I will answer anyways.
- I have not had any other accounts, but have been a IP editor, as you can see here. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 03:19, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I know about the IP. When editing with the IP, why did you attempt to edit Blaze Wolf's userpage? Do you know the user?--Bbb23 (talk) 15:50, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
I'm confused. I see no attempt by this user (or the IP) to edit my userpage. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:52, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Nevermind I just checked the IPs filter logs and see they tried editing my userpage. The reason was that I had left a message saying I was out of town and wishing people a merry christmas with a note saying that after Christmas passes to revert it back to normal and uncomment the out of town template (the 2nd thing didn't happen) and so they were simply trying to be helpful. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:55, 16 February 2022 (UTC)- @Blaze Wolf: That doesn't make complete sense. As far as I can tell, Rusty also attempted to add an infobox bio for you. This is complicated by the fact that actual changes to your userpage during that time frame were suppressed, and I'm not an OS. It also doesn't explain why Rusty, a relatively new user, would be inclined to touch anyone's userpage - and particularly yours as there are many similarities between your userpage and Rusty's. Finally, Rusty filed a false/positive report about the edit filter preventing him from editing your userpage. I find all of this suspious and disturbing.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:14, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- I"m a bit confused as to what you mean by "Rusty also attempted to add an infobox bio for you". I'm taking a look at the edit through the edit filter log (which is a bit difficult but still readable) and I'm not seeing anything added that wasn't there previously. If you're referring to the Infobox wikipedia user I already had that on the page. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:08, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

- @Bbb23: The reason that I edited Blaze's userpage was because I happened to come across it when it said that anyone could revert back to normal. (PS: I saw your message but didn't have time to reply.) Rusty4321 talk contributions log 01:49, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Trouted
Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |
You have been trouted for: Self-trout I forgot that when you provide an example of a template, you put it in noinclude, which led to [1]. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 23:35, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Götterdämmerung
I got my quote from the same place that HandsomeMrToad got his, which makes it odd indeed that you would favor his version over mine. 67.180.143.89 (talk) 03:50, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- I don't know about this, honestly. You seem to be contradicting each other. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 22:39, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there Rusty4321. I checked my libretto and the other editor (unnamed, but with the number beginning 67.180.etc. is absolutely correct: the stage direction at the beginning of the scene says what he said - Hagen is leaning against a pillar, asleep ("Schlafend"). The directions he quotes, in both languages, are at the top of page 131 in the Schirmer German-English piano-vocal score. So I was wrong! Mea ultra-culpa. My only defense is that my favorite video of Götterdämmerung (from the Met, conducted by James Levine, with Matti Salminen as Hagen, wearing a bald wig) shows him sitting motionless, with open eyes, from the get-go, contra the initial stage-direction.
- So thank you for your support, but I'm the one in the wrong here, as it turns out.
- Best wishes, and good night - HandsomeMrToad (talk) 06:52, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
- I also have a confession. I failed to notice that this was a play. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 19:13, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

Vandalism
Please read the policy on vandalism carefully. Constructive edits shouldn't be labelled as vandalism in your edit summary when they're not. The edit you reverted at Newfoundland dog was not vandalism. In fact, the content the IP added is supported by the source cited for that sentence. You're free to disagree that it's a useful addition, which you should do with a talk page discussion, but it was not vandalism. Please revert your warning to User talk:188.30.19.32. Schazjmd (talk) 17:30, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Schazjmd: Thanks for letting me know. I've reverted my edits. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 17:31, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
April 2022
This is a self-warn given to myself for reverting [2]. I've reverted my revert already. Even though you may not see a warning, there is a hidden <!-- Template:uw-vandalism1 -->
at the end of this comment. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 19:32, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hey Rusty, I brought that revert to your attention last week because it's important to be clear on the differences between vandalism and other edits, but it's not so much of a big deal that you should keep beating yourself up over it. We all make mistakes, we're human. Schazjmd (talk) 19:36, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
Teyora - Development first look!
Hi! I'm Ed6767, the original creator of RedWarn, now one of the most popular tools on the English Wikipedia that's been used by over 1,000 Wikimedians to make over 300,000 edits since mid-2020 that's been praised for its user friendliness and ease of use, but criticised for its limited functionality. I'm leaving this message as I think it may be of interest here - I left the RedWarn project in November to develop Teyora, my successor to RedWarn (alongside Chlod's UltraViolet). It's a new in development web app that uses some of the latest web technologies to create a highly extendable all in one editing tool with a focus on administration, counter vandalism and general patrolling - not to mention, it'll work on every Wikimedia project without any prior configuration and can be used by any user with at least auto-confirmed rights*. Now, I'm ready to give the Wikimedia community a first look at what I've been doing over the past six months and what to expect going forward.
You can check out the 20 minute first look at the in development version on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzlpnzXdLP4.
There's lots more to expect too! Why not read the full details page at meta:Teyora and leave any feedback, comments or wishes at meta:Talk:Teyora (please leave any correspondence there to keep discussion centralised). If you're interested, you can leave your signature
*with basic features, advanced features require configuration. To prevent abuse, auto-confirmed users will be in a restricted mode until approved by an admin or via rollback rights.
All the best, ✨ Ed talk! ✨ 23:17, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Missing
Hi. It was very thoughtful for you to add Macadamia of the LeafWings to WP:MIA as well as tagging her talk page with {{not around}} and notifying her. That's exactly as I have done many times for other users. Thing is, the instructions on MIA state a 1000 edit threshold for adding. Fellow editors want to list folks who were more integral to our community compared with those we never got to know. Feel free to contribute to MIA in the future as you find accomplished editors who have left, especially if they left evidence of their departure. Chris Troutman (talk) 23:49, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. Although she does not have 1,000 edits, I added her because she has about 950, and the page states "~1000" edits. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 02:04, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- Pinging you, Chris troutman Rusty4321 talk contributions log 21:48, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- Her editing record doesn't impress me and I wouldn't seek to lionize such an editor at MIA. I'm not going to edit war over the issue but I don't think the editor involved merits listing. Chris Troutman (talk) 00:58, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
