Buu article

I was trying to bring it into line with the gohan, goku and vegeta articles, the problem was that those headings were the only ones I could think up so if you can think of better feel free, I just felt it'd make more sense to standardise the format of the articles.

It's cool (ZOMG, I really need to think up a new segue @_@). Conformity's good and all, but you've got to take into account the reader's probably not as familiar with the source material as you or I, and is likely looking for quick/specific info on the subject, character, etc. Keeping article section titles concise and easy to navigate is to their best benefit, y'know.
Please don't take it as a slight; you've gone the long haul doing maintenance on these articles from what I've seen. Papacha 13:24, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough, behind the childhood, behind the saiyan, behind the fusion, etc work ok for those characters but I can understand that even though I get it, others might not understand Behind the Pink. If I ever think up some better titles I'll run them past you. ANd sorry for forgetting to sign. Darkwarriorblake 13:32, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
So putting a section back counts as reverting? I didn't know that, I'm just trying to save the Buu article as best I can against Wiki-stars rampage. Darkwarriorblake 01:30, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Yep. Admins will punish all parties, unless they deem what you've been reverting from to be vandalism. Papacha 01:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough, though how anything that insane can be considered anything but vandalism is beyond me. Darkwarriorblake 01:50, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Help on Broly article?

I know he's not everyone's favorite, but being the focal point in three movies does count for something. His page is a complete mess, and since the beginning of this month I've been trying to improve it. It's slow, but I've been meeting with some success. It's just that there's so much garbage there I'm getting bogged down. Seeing you work on some other characters and the Budokai page I was wondering if you can give this one a shot; I'm midway through the first movie in the synopsis now. Sorry for any trouble or bother. This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:VegitoSSJ2ver2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 19:27, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Source and copyright were long since given, so I'm unsure as to why this was brought up in the first place. Papacha 22:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
See my reply at the article talk page. -- ReyBrujo 23:15, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Truthfully I don't know the source, not to put to fine a point on it. A high-res desktop of it was being used on the Vegeta page, and I shrunk it down to an acceptable size and added the copy info. Delete it if it pleases you. Papacha 05:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
And in case you were curious, the original uploader was Wiki-star, who I've already had it out with for his obscene number of pictures on the Vegeta page and others. Our convos - even about this pic - can be seen in the page history and talk section (under "Images"). Papacha 06:40, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Job Bob Briggs and Project A-ko

I figured out why the review to Joe Bob Briggs' review of Project A-ko wasn't working; I'll leave it to you as to whether or not I should reinsert the link. -Litefantastic 17:43, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

It'd been clipped along with others in the page format change for WP:EL, so I s'pose it's cool to just leave it be. I saw the link error myself a bit after-the-fact. Thanks though. Papacha 05:17, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Zarbon

Hi there. I've seen your name on a lot of Zarbon's sockpuppet IPs in relation to his behavior. I have filed a request for comment here and I would appreciate your input. Kafziel 04:34, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Oy. And I was (shamefully) relieved that The Sopranos situation got him out of our hair.
It'd take quite a time to get a collection of conflicts on Zarby together, simply because he carries this attitude to *EACH AND EVERY* article he edits by sundry. You'd have an extensive laundry list of complaints taking a cursory glance at his login contributions - not to mention his innumerable anon IPs - in a matter of minutes. Papacha 05:13, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
To be honest, I was relieved that The Sopranos got him out of my hair (I met him while working on The Shield). But I got pulled back in by some new users who were having problems with him. I'm really at my wits' end.
I agree - it's hard to know where to begin. I tried to give examples of the major misconduct like edit warring, copyvios, and incivility, so hopefully it will at least get some other people to see what we've been dealing with. All I need is your signature under "Other users who endorse this summary" to say you support the statement, and maybe we can begin to get something done about this. Thanks. Kafziel 13:45, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Which name should everything be under? Having a redirect from the other should be ok too, right? — xaosflux Talk 15:06, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

It can be either; the character's equally known by both names, though Freeza is what the page was originally under before the move. I'd of preferred the user discussed the transition with other editors and got consensus before doing so, as there's decent arguments for both sides.
Anyway, whatever you feel is best. Papacha 17:36, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

DOA Ultimate

Good job cleaning the article up!

>x<ino 20:29, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Heh. I live to serve, though I've never served to live. I don't want to work in a restaurant! And have I ever told you just *how* terrible I look in an apron? It's not pretty...
Thanks bunches though. Papacha 20:34, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Freeza family

hi papacha. i listed under frieza's page under the family connections cui, dodoria, and zarbon as henchmen. however, you said "family" only. i had originally done this because i looked at the garlic junior main article and it has all his henchmen listed as family. see what my problem is? - Zarbon

I'm against listing henchmen with blood relations, and it seems Wikipedia is too, seeing how they rallied against Frieza family tree back in the day. I wasn't a party to that, but I see their point. Flunkies - if they *must* be mentioned - are best structured like those on Coola's page. 'Course, they're a special case too, being his personal attack squad and limited to one movie (and a cameo in another). Papacha 05:18, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

DOA revert

Don't worry about it, I've made the same mistake too. Thanks for the note. ˉˉanetode04:04, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

RE:IP blocks

We can't block IPs indefinetely as they might change users. If and when the vandal comes back, any admin can take a quick look at the block log and re-apply blocks appropriately. Cheers and happy editing. Sasquatch t|c 17:30, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

S'cool, and understandable as well. Thanks for looking into it. Papacha 17:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Gan-chan was a regular in the mini-series. I am considering "promoting" peorth among the main characters... Why do you object to the rat? --Cat out 13:06, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I mention why in the template edit. Again, nothing against Gan-chan, but I don't see him ranking a spot with the core group featured throughout all versions of the manga/anime series, as he's only a large part of the Mini-Goddess branch.
I won't raise a fuss over a revert, but yes, I do have misgivings about him being considered MAIN main with the other four, if you get my meaning. Papacha 13:31, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Yo! Looking for template help ~~

I'll admit to always admiring the layout of your templates from afar, but while I'm handy enough at adding info to them, I might as well be typing with my elbows when it comes to making one myself. I'd like to convert Template:Tenchi Character and Template:Tenchi Muyo! to bring them up to snuff to the standard set by the OMG! articles - removing some of the disorganized clutter, redundancy and the like - but I'm clueless on how to initiate and didn't want to rip off your work directly or without you knowing. Do you think you could help me? Papacha 06:19, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I'll gladly assist. Thank you for your nice comments. --Cat out 15:16, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate it. I'm worse than an infant when it comes to birthing those things; it'd take a miracle of random chance to figure something structurally nice left to my own devices. v_v Papacha 15:40, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I am done with {{Tenchi Muyo!}} and {{Tenchi Muyo Char}}. What do you think of them? --Cat out 16:14, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
They're both looking rather nice. I'm savvy enough (HA!) to add breaks if necessary, though I don't know what kind of color pallete we have to play with here. I'm sure it's not trial-and-error, but is there a scheme or tool used to show what choice of shades tables have available?
Again, thanks so much for your help on these thus far. You caught me with me pants down so I haven't had the chance to check Ryoko's yet, but I will now. Papacha 17:08, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
{{Tenchi Muyo Character Infobox}} complate. See Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo!) for an example. All character pages should be updated in usinig the new template.
Are there other optional parameters you would like me to add?
--Cat out 16:47, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I should be okay in adding/subtracting template parameters; I can handle divvying up sizes (yeesh) and blood type from the single space they occupy now, and I can change "code name" to "real name" easily enough.
Now I just have to start implementing the changes and we should be good to go. Broken record much, but thanks a lot for lending me a hand. Papacha 17:08, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that the Masaki Family most noteably Nobuyuki and Katsuhito Masaki were missing from the new character template so I re-included those names and then update the Templates on each of those pages. I was just trying to help make sure that those pages weren't ignored. -Adv193 17:04, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I know nothing about the series. I am praticaly editing "blind". So I really apriciate that. Thanks. --Cat out 17:11, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
The pics do seem to be warping a bit with the text (for ex., Kain/Washu). I didn't insert the new box so I don't know the cause of the interference. Do you know why so I can knock it out? Papacha 17:19, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
On your template, you were passing [[Image:filename.jpg|300px|etc etc]]. ON the new template all you need to pass is filename.jpg. --Cat out 17:22, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I see. So is this template preset to display pics at a particular size?
Baby-steps, baby-steps... Papacha 17:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I am already on it and slowly but effectively updating the character infoboxes myself I can handle this task singlehandly and if you want to see my work check out Tenchi, Ayeka, Sasami, and Mihoshi's infoboxes, I am going to work on Kiyone's now. -Adv193 18:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Ai-yah, my PC's moving like molasses on ice. Okeyday. I've got villains; I'll then start at the end of the last section and we'll meet in the middle, alright? Papacha 18:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I have already finished the Main characters and Goddesses and I think I leave the villans to you while I work on the Masaki Family members and then I will check up on you again when I finish. -Adv193 18:36, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I'll let you handle the first four articles on the final part of the Tenchi Muyo! Template while I will take the other five. -Adv193 19:22, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I just finished my part of the final section of the Template and I thank you for helping me since I really was looking forward to updating all the infoboxes. -Adv193 19:45, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Let's go for the gusto ~~

What the heck, I'm here already aren't I?

I'm thinking about adding a pic to each of the single episode summaries on the FMA list, but would you consider some pictures (i.e. Envy impaling Ed on his arm in Death) to be too "spoilery" in nature? Papacha 07:06, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

See List of Oh My Goddess episodes articles on how I picked screen caps. Usualy the first half of every episode is the best time to look for screen caps. --Cat out 15:13, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
S'cool. I'll take that advice. Papacha 15:36, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

TM! template talk (cont)...

Ah, I see. So is this template preset to display pics at a particular size?

Baby-steps, baby-steps... Papacha 17:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Default size was 300 width I believe, a reasonable size for fairuse images. --Cat out 18:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

DOAX Character Profiles

Hey, webmaster of DOAXtremehere, I didnt realize you are the author of those character profiles, sorry about that. I'll make sure to give full credits to you and Wiki. Also, please email me at Lmagnuz2@yahoo.com or give me your email address, there's something else i want to talk to you about. Thanks

It's cool; I was mostly worried about someone thinking it was a rip on *our* side and blanking Wiki's data. You'll want to get with Zero though; he deserves the bulk of the credit for overhauling the personality sections long before I got there. I'll let him know. Papacha 15:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok i have edited all the characters pages and give full credits to both of you. Sorry about that. On another note, since you guys seems to know alot about the DOA series, would you mind working on our site as the contents manager ? Our site is still new, so we need someone to work on the contents more, as we need to get it ready before DOAX2 released next year (or December ? Hopefully ;D). This is a paying job by the way, i am prepared to pay 30$/month (via paypal) for this job. If anyone interested, feel free to add me to your MSN list (LMagnuz@hotmail.com) or email me at LMagnuz2@yahoo.com. Later :)

Lmagnuz

Thanks

Thanks, I'm glad you like my work. As I've said on my user page, I mainly focus on supplemental information, but I did take some time with those Pretty Sammy-related articles since I felt it needed some expansion when I started out. The work you have done on the the character articles for Tenchi looks very nice. As far as the Ramia and Rumiya pages are concerned I was just being really particular and nervous when I started them since there seemed to be other terms they could refer to. I suppose someone could start a disambiguation page up in the future if they really wanted to cover that, though.

Translation's definitely not a specialty of mine at this point (hopefully will get good enough to do that eventually), but I know enough Japanese that I can do a decent job translating voice roles since I can use WWWJDIC and research on Google to make sure on many of them (particularly when I'm familiar with the series). --EmperorBrandon 21:44, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

By the way, excellent job in starting the Seiryo Tennan article. That one was definitely needed. --EmperorBrandon 19:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

TM! movie pages added, more to remind *me* than anything else...

Aye. It's barebones, but it's something at the very least. I guess I'll be needing to craft one for the Mihoshi Special as well, but I'm clawing like a cat caught in a circular fan procratinatin' on Okuda's manga. Not out of hate, but because I'm gonna be frightfully obsessive about it, and OH MY SHWEET LAWD it's going to take a long time.

And if I ever have to do write-ups for the extended novel/doujinshi/video game characters I will DIE. Right there, on the spot. Papacha 21:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Clear out your internet cache

Then it'll move to the proper redirect on Buu. That's the reason why we were getting so hung up. Voice of Treason 21:27, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

... gosh but I'm dumb. STRAWBERRY ROFFLES. Papacha 03:51, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Nippon Television

Nippon Television (NTV) WAS involved in the production of the third OVA and GXP after Geneon pulled out. BiggKwell 19:07, June 11, 2006

Tenchi Muyo

In response to your post I would say that both Misao Kuramitsu and Seina Yamada who both have numerous paragraphs are the best canidates I can think of to create new character articles with. Also I posted this on the Tenchi Muyo! talk page already, when I was previously looking into my Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki volume one copy for info on the third OVA ending to help with posting it on the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki page I came across the Nippon Television credentials at the very end of the credits. -Adv193 22:08, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

If any new character articles, I think we should take notability into consideration and start with all of the main characters of GXP (since they are pretty important and more notable than a lot of character articles already started, even though in only one series): Seina, Kiriko, Amane, Ryoko B., and Neju, possibly Fuku too. --EmperorBrandon 23:07, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Ditto'd; the GXP cast is under-repped. Though that brings up an interesting point, the same Cat and I chatted about a while back - what qualifies as "main-MAIN" within a large anime franchise? Seina and company are big unto themselves, but they're only one branch of the extended anime/manga tree. The core OVA group and Kiyone (the cop, not the prank-pullin', <<< than Achika dead mom) are focal or referenced in lots of alternate features or shows. Would everyone be cool with GXP'ers being considered synonymous with the usual suspects of Tenchi media?
I'll bring this up too, as it's yet to be resolved either - Noike's going to be a fixture in the OVAs from here-on-in, like her or not; she's already factored as much in the third bit of Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki as Washu did throughout the second. Does she deserve to make it *big* as well, or is she just not "established" enough yet? Papacha 05:15, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

TM! manga characters

Maybe we could expand on some of the manga characters (Minage, Yume and the rest). BiggKwell

Sure. I've got about half the write-ups for major and minor characters polished off; right now I'm burnin' the midnight oil to have 'em posted before I go outta town for the weekend so you guys can give it a look-over and improve upon them. From there we'll decide if we want to elevate folks like Minage, Yume, Garyu, etc. to "full" article status. Papacha 04:42, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
No dice on the manga being uploaded tonight. I'll punch the timeclock this weekend, and with the ancient art of pen and paper will slay the mighty Okuda-verse!!... or something.
Hope to have it typed up sometime Monday. Papacha 01:42, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
GWAH. HA. HA.
Hope's a nice thing, innit it? Scans for major characters of No Need for Tenchi! are done, give or take a few debateables. Once write-ups are complete the remaining details can be ironed out. Papacha 07:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem, I'll definitely see what I can do. For the most part, I have been using this list for a source on Japanese names for the characters. It's very extensive (has many, many characters, even minor, obscure ones, from all different continuities, spinoffs, and adaptations) and seems to be reliable. Usually check a lot of these kanji with a search on Google Japan to see if they turn up well enough. Also helpful in that it lists seiyū, too.

I'll admit I'm actually not too familiar with the Okuda-verse at this point. I do have one volume of the No Need for Tenchi! manga, the one with the Pretty Sammy story, so I know who Hiwa is, but not much else...

As for "evil Kiyone", I'm not sure if that's her official name or not, or whether she even has one. Something I'll try to check into. --EmperorBrandon 23:46, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Sasami: MSC pics

Thanks for uploading the more clearer version of the Sasami pic for Sasami MSC. My original screengrab was taken with a mobile phone placed in front of a TV. If you can find clearer screencaps of the other characters, especially Washu and Mihoshi, let me know. - 上村七美 | talk 10:33, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. Papacha 10:45, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Wikistar

I understand, but I hate to see a talk page degenerate into a conflict like that. Best to shout at everyone until they quiet down. Works in my comapny of the OTC, anyway :) HawkerTyphoon 03:35, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Majin Buu Thingy

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Wikipedia to organize anything, nor do I have the time to continue dealing with this matter when it seems to be resolved. The article, in its protected state, has all the information necessary for Majin Buu, in my opinion, and while no one can edit it, neither can it be vandalized by Wiki-star. Eventually Wiki-star will be banned for good (hopefully) and then the article will be unlocked and everything will be fine. I'm sorry I can't be more help, but I'm just a bit burned out on this whole thing.

I hope someone else will help you out. Wiki-star needs to be gotten rid of.Daishokaioshin 06:44, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, it's not for *me* really, as I've got outside concerns of my own to tend to. But yeah, I'm loathe to deal with Wiki-star any longer than necessary myself. Papacha 07:23, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
