Merci bien
Note, some of the info in Thomas and Wegmann does not fully match the article in its current state. I will post the discrepancies on your talk page and leave it up to you to address them. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 20:41, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

- Well spotted, and good initiative. I mainly reformulated or corrected the already-added information in the "Early life" section. The particular sentence first mentioned on page 47 in the article was just meant to state when he exactly began his military career (and not necessarily when he received his official post). This mention are (in my opinion) not really needed; Brauchitsch, as well as many other Prussian officers, spent the early ears of their military education in countless military units and positions. It would not be worth to mention them all. Also, the balk of this article's information comes Hart. It's possible his book might have some discrepancies (being written in 1944). Should I have added some incorrect information, that's my mistake, and should of course be fixed (which most are now). Anyways, I see you've corrected and added lots yourself in the discussed section; awesome job. And thank you. :) Jonas Vinther (talk) 22:28, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- Do as you please. I have made different experiences when trying to move an article forward on the quality scale. Don't you think his WWI section is a bit understated? you reduced it to "By the outbreak of World War I in August 1914, he had reached the rank of captain, and was appointed as staff officer to the XVI Army Corps stationed near Metz. Here Brauchitsch took part the heavy fighting against the French 3rd Army in the Battle of Verdun (1916)." According to my sources he fought in

I think you need to expand this section and single it out. WWI is a major historic event and Von Brauchitsch was in the thick of it from start to finish. He also received some significant awards which need to be put in context. MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:32, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

- I am not denying that he fought at Verdun. My point is that this was not the only battle he fought in. Yes, it is the same source. MisterBee1966 (talk) 17:49, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- MisterBee1966, I have a family dinner right now, but right afterwards, I will massively (or create a section for it) expand his life in World War I. If you could list the Thomas & Wegmann book pages (and other useful information, if any) that would be great. Jonas Vinther (talk) 17:53, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

I think you should have a look here. I think his view on the Commissar Order is vital to a GA rating. MisterBee1966 (talk) 15:00, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, mate. Jonas Vinther (talk) 17:10, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- So, the way I understand it, MisterBee1966, he did not protest when Hitler shifted permission to kill commissars from the SS to the army, but eventually issued a degree that gave officers some leeway, and that they were only to execute commissars if they were extremely forthright about their anti-German sentiments? Jonas Vinther (talk) 17:24, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Also, I posted a question on Brauchtisch in media on the article talk page, and would appreciate your views. Jonas Vinther (talk) 17:28, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Battle of Verdun
I see you have this at GAN under World history. I think you would get a quicker and more expert review if you put it in the Warfare section. Dudley Miles (talk) 09:58, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
