AfD for Sandeep Unnikrishnan
Hi there. In light of the fact that this article had an AfD that was closed yesterday I have speedy closed this renomination. I will say that the closer of the first AfD, User:Star Mississippi, closed the discussion early, and you may want to ask her ab out reopenning that discussion. I noticed that you responded to a {{helpme}} request with something along the lines of "I don't know". In such a situation, please leave the request for other helpers, as nullifying the template means that people cannot see which people need help. Happy New Year! | ||
Hey there, Gtstricky! Happy new Gregorian year. All the best for the new year, both towards you and your family and friends too. I know that I am the only person lonely enough to be running this thing as the new year is ushered in, but meh, what are you going to do. I like to keep my templated messages in a satisfactorily melancholy tone. ;)
Congratulations to Coren, Wizardman, Vassyana, Carcharoth, Jayvdb, Casliber, Risker, Roger Davies, Cool Hand Luke and Rlevse, who were all appointed to the Arbitration Committee after the ArbCom elections. I am sure I am but a voice of many when I say I trust the aforementioned users to improve the committee, each in their own way, as listed within their respective election statements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to update the 2009 article, heh. Best wishes, neuro(talk) 00:49, 1 January 2009 (UTC) |

Spotlight relaunch
Some users have decided to try and relaunch the spotlight project, and I am informing all users that were on the previous list of participants.
We thought that, rather than discuss it, it would be more effective to simply start, and try to make it work again. Therefore, we are currently working on an article.
Anyone is welcome to get involved, so please come to the #wikipedia-spotlight channel on the freenode IRC network (see the IRC tutorial for help with IRC). You can get instant access using freenode webchat.

Fair use rationale for File:SwimWorldCover.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SwimWorldCover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:09, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 03:26, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
In regards to the Spellfury wiki and IMDB
Fine Gtstricky, forget IMDB, are you saying wired.com, Ain't It Cool News and tubefilter aren't reliable webseries sources? They're 3rd party reviews, have you not read the whole spellfury wiki? Important Youtube has given Spellfury it's own special showpage at[[1]], these can't be created by the public, "the guild" has also been given this honor, but notable webseries like "legend of neil" and "riese the series" don't have them. It allows The guild and Spellfury to come up in the listings of traditional television shows, Youtube has deemed Spellfury notable because of the strong viewership of the series and fanbase. Remember we're discussing whether or not Spellfury is a notable "webseries", not a tv show. Showzampa (talk) 14:31, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Spellfury Comment
Comment Thank You Gstricky, Thank Goodness someone around here has heard of Wired.com, they're an extremely reputable site. My only trouble is with your statement "tubefilter and Ain't It Cool News will review anything if you email them and ask them" you don't back that up with any facts or even an explanation.
I don't see that information on the wiki pages for those sites, I dare you to try and put that fact on their pages :) From my experience I would TOTALLY disagree with you, I've been reading those 2 "notable" and reputable websites for years. the only way anyone will get published on those sites is if the editor deems you "notable". Many a webseries or individual would give they're eyeteeth for a review on either of those sites. The web traffic from being mentioned on one of those sites is HIGHLY sought after and valuable. Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Gtstricky! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 11 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Trying to understand the reasoning behind wanting to delete Caffeine Energy Drink?
You placed a tag on Caffeine Energy Drinks page. I have not included all the citations or links yet, and intend to tomorrow. However, why does Caffeine Energy not deserve a site like all the other ENergy Drinks on the Market? You say its promotional but I wrote a fair unbiased article and I feel like it should be researched a bit longer and a quick google search of the company and drink should assist in determining the validity of the product. Nomination of Dark Matter Moving at the Speed of Light for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Dark Matter Moving at the Speed of Light is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dark Matter Moving at the Speed of Light until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 22:05, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
The article David Sirieix has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Orphan article without sufficient sourcing to establish notability under WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Brianhe (talk) 16:08, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Philip J. Miller
Hi there, you just deleted the article for Philip J. Miller that I was working on. In no way was that article even close to done, I had spent about 15 minute working on it so far. I was under the impression I was the only one able to see it? It was still in the editting phase, I was going to complete it (full bio, references etc.) and then publish it for approval. Can I get it back and/or moved to my editing area? I may have made a mistake by creating it in the wrong place.

New Page Reviewer granted
Hello Gtstricky. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog (around 18,000 pages) down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Lord Roem ~ (talk) 18:38, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
