Re: How to become an admin
[edit]Re [1]: You do so by being a consistent contributor here, do not engage in vandalism, follow our policies, engage in admin appropriate areas, and either self-nominate or find someone to nominate you. You may wish to see WP:GRFA. Hope this helps, --Durin 22:22, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Re [2]: With 139 edits as of now to your credit, you haze zero chance of passing an RfA and becoming an admin. In all of 2006, there were 191 nominations of people with less than 1000 edits. None...none...of them succeeded. I strongly recommend you wait. Have a look at WT:RFA#2006_RfA_In_Review for some statistics. --Durin 14:02, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Adding pictures.
[edit]If you want to add a picture, go to the button on the bottom left of your screen that says "Upload file". After you follow the instructions there, I'll help you add them to pages. --MasterA113 23:31, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Vandalising my user page
[edit]Please don't do it. If you wish to leave me a message, do so on my talk page rather than on my user page.

User pages
[edit]FYI, your comments on several user talk pages smack of spam—I highly recommend you avoid copying and pasting comments on multiple user pages in the future. If you want to improve your own user page, I recommend simplifying it. It's got so many words, headers, and userboxes that most users are likely to ignore it. The Jade Knight 02:59, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have a few suggestions to your user page
- Link to other user's page like [[User:FonzieBaby]] instead of http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:FonzieBaby
- Avoid using all capital letters. It goes for not only your user page, but other places too. It's hard to read for most people, and borderlines obnoxiousness
- Align your user boxes. If you need help on table formatting, let me know.
- Review Wikipedia:User page if you haven't done so.
- Cheers. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 11:03, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- To emphasize something, you can use '''bold text''', which results in bold text. Also, instead of http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/25th_century_BC, use wiki link like 25th century BC. There is no need to put </noinclude> in your user page. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 10:47, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Happy Star.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Happy Star.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:08, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bali.JPG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bali.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 12:42, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Material in your userspace
[edit]Reviewing some of the material in your userspace, it seems to me that you do not understand that Wikipedia is not a free web host and that Wikipedia is not a blog or social networking site. Users are allowed to have userpages, and subpages, but only if they frequently make contributions to the encyclopedia or if the material is related to encyclopedia-building work. See Wikipedia:User page for more information about userpages. If you want to stay on Wikipedia, I suggest you make more contributions to articles.
By the way, several of your user subpages have been nominated for deletion. You can contribute to the discussion here. Hut 8.5 19:10, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Admin application
[edit]It appears that you are attempting to apply for admin status, but you have not followed the correct procedure so your application is in the wrong place.
In any case, I must say, as you were told earlier by Durin, that as you have less than 350 total edits you have absolutely no chance of being approved at this time. None at all. If you keep on editing and still want to be an admin then eventually you will probably succeed, but you should think in terms of six months experience in wiki and 3,000 edits well spread over the various areas of the encyclopedia. Some people make it with a bit less, but it is unusual. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- In addition, given that almost all of your edits seem to be outside mainspace, your chances are very poor. Remember that WP:NOT#MYSPACE, and spending very much time on your user page will upset other editors, especially at an RFA --Laugh! 16:01, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Bienveneue!
Wikiediting Heureux! --wpktsfs 00:13, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

You tube, Links on your user page
[edit]Hi, I note that you have linked to You Tube clips from your user page. However it would appreciate if you could reconsider this, given that some of the clips appear to be possible copyright violations. Linking to copyvios refelcts badly on both You and Wikipedia. There is no objection to linking to 'legal' clips on You Tube though, or ideally clips covered by a suitable free licence.
Replacement of the YouTube links would be most appreciated :) Sfan00 IMG 12:10, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- If you can't be certain of their status, they will sadly have to go, Sorry :( Sfan00 IMG 22:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Your userpages
[edit]I do understand your being upset, and I agree that it was harsh to delete your pages - on Wikipedia we have an important policy called Please do not bite the newcomers, which some people don't seem to have followed in this case. However, please believe me when I say that Wikipedians are not intentionally trying to bully you. Your contributions are welcome, and no one wanted to drive you away. It's just that some people saw your large number of subpages, and, with the fact that you hadn't made many edits to articles, they assumed you were trying to use Wikipedia as a free web host for your stories. However, if you get more involved in editing articles, fighting vandalism and so on, then I'm sure the community won't mind you creating pages in your userspace. To get more involved, you could try joining a WikiProject, or you could fight vandalism through recent changes patrol. Anyway, please don't be discouraged - Wikipedia can be a harsh place, but there are lots of good people here, and interesting things to do. Let me know if you need any more help or advice. WaltonOne 10:51, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, I'm always glad to be helpful. As to the comments on the MfD, I don't think DGG meant that you were an embarrassment; he was probably trying to say that the concept of userspace, and what it can be used for, is often unclear, and that new users often put too many non-Wikipedia-related things in their userspace, which can sometimes lead to "embarrassment" to the encyclopedia. Although some of the comments people made at that MfD looked harsh, please don't be offended; they weren't trying to offend you, and everyone here values your contributions. And you're certainly not an "embarrassment" to the encyclopedia. Like I said, if you need more help you can contact me, or alternatively you could try the adopt-a-user programme, which is often very helpful in teaching newer users about Wikipedia.
